The Flash creator attends PaleyFest
<b>Time Network Los Angeles News</b> At the 2015 American drama event PaleyFest, many popular dramas have appeared, and not long ago, "The Flash" also made a full appearance and accepted an interview with reporters. Since the launch of this new drama last year, the ratings and word of mouth are satisfactory, even if it is a fight for the "small broken platform" CW, of course, there are many places that have been criticized, and how the plot develops later will be the key to determining its fate. (Note: This article contains spoilers for the first half of the first season, please be careful)
At the TV festival, producers Grieg Beranti, Andrew Kresberg, "The Flash" Grant Gustin, starring "Black Professor" Tom Gavana, "Inspector" Jesse Martin, actress Candice Parton and "genius geek" Carlos Waldes, "beauty scientist" Daniel Panabeck, "Inspector Partner" Rick Cosnanett and others were all present, and the whole crew was also a joyful and harmonious atmosphere, as if they were coming to a big party.
At the beginning of the interview, the crew released a piece of flowers, introducing several upcoming villains. Among them was Trickster, a "reverse flash" version of Professor Wells, who also finally made an appearance. Also included in the film is a scene of Eddie punching Barry, as if some secret had been discovered. At the same time, the producers also revealed that the next "Flash" will add a time-traveling plot, and it will play a key role in the ending.
Time Network Paley TV Festival front report "The Flash" creator group interview ——
Q: Technology is a key element of this show, and you make it look cool, and fans enjoy watching these high-tech products. Have you done a lot of research on this part to make sure it's reasonable and correct, or are the principles all nonsense?
Grieg (Producer): The brief answer to you is: there is enough scientific evidence in the play to convince you, but most of it is nonsense, haha.
Andrew (producer) :( laughs) Well, there is some scientific basis for this, but we want to make sure the story is good, so that we have to make a set of rules in the play, so that we don't contradict ourselves. For example, the next two episodes will involve time travel, and if we design it exactly according to existing scientific theories, the rest of the story may not continue.
Q: I want to ask Danielle and Carlos (Caitlin and Cisco in the play), your characters seem to have chemistry, what is the most enjoyable part of these two characters for you?
Danielle and Carlos
Carlos: I think since my character is the youngest in the show, he should naturally have a really stinky feeling (laughs), and I'm happy to add that element to the character.
Danielle: I think Dr. Caitlin Snow has a very strong dramatic tension, because at first she seems to be cold, but she gradually exposes her pain, gradually evolves in personality, and she will have more explosions later.
Jesse Martin (Inspector): I remember the most enjoyable day on set when I watched Grant run wild in front of the green screen and he ran like a silly fork, haha. (Wild arm throwing imitation)
Q: I'm curious, who are the mutants who are bringing them food? (Both on and off the stage are haha up)
Andrew (Producer): We've really thought about that, and there's an episode not far away that deals with that you mentioned. And since you mentioned it, I think we will pay more attention to it in the next few seasons, it seems that everyone still cares about them.
Q: One of the biggest emotional themes of this show is family. Even Professor Wells is so distorted because of the huge psychological trauma, how do you communicate this family-induced inner upheaval on set?
The atmosphere of the crew is very harmonious
Grant (The Flash): To be honest with my family, the scenes that deal with family relationships are my favorite, because they are short and easy to shoot. And when we shoot these scenes, almost all of them are based on real experiences and complex emotions, because we are as good as our relatives in private.
Jesse (Inspector): That's right. It's easy for us to shoot, but in fact, these scenes are the most emotional parts, and it is these moving content that makes this show so popular.
Professor Wells: Yes, it's okay for you to play a big bad guy with teeth and claws, but if you let this bad guy have a complex inner drama, with a weak side of human nature, it's even more interesting and three-dimensional. The feelings between the actors are also real, and Grieg and Andrew are very smart and know how to make real emotions play out best in the shooting.
Q: I've always wondered, what was written in braille on Dr. Wells' mysterious wall?
Professor Wells: The words are "Your car is parked." (Hahaha)
Q: Green Arrow is relatively coherent in dimension, but The Flash has a lot of multi-line expansions. After adding time and space travel next, how to ensure that the plot in real time is not loose?
Grant Gustin became a little fresh meat that attracted much attention for his role as The Flash
Jesse (Inspector): We're all at ease with the two producers, and if they think it's okay, we're fine.
Grant (The Flash): That's right. As an actor, I think the thing we have to worry about is that when the traversal element is added, you don't know much about your character's state, and in some specific scenes, they may be given new definitions, what is known and what is not known, and so on. And it's possible that some of the character's memories will also be erased.
Grieg (Producer): The most attractive thing about time travel for us is the emotional part it contains, when you go back in time and struggle with choices. If you change the past, you may give yourself a happy ending, but you can't imagine what side effects it will bring. Our next script will expose the characters to more of this complex inner drama.
Andrew (Producer): And, I don't think we're going to dig holes at will because we have long-term plans. In Green Arrow, for example, we've long set out how each season will end. We may not have designed every line of every scene yet, but how to draw the big drawings has long been in our minds. So now the plot of "The Flash" will have some god unfolding or improvisation, but the basis for us to do this is to ensure that the audience can recognize it, and it will not be too imaginative. For example, we just started writing the script for this season's finale not long ago, but we've set all the plot directions as early as the time we were writing the navigation episode.
The Flash isn't the only "fastest man in the world" in the comics. Will Lightning II and Lightning III be introduced in the series?
Grieg (Producer): We'd love to bring in these characters, we've already booked a second season, but if we're going to add so many characters, we're going to have to wait until next year to do those things.
