The story of Hyun-ya and Dawn (Jin Xiaozhong) was widely circulated in K-pop and gradually became a good story. They have been in love for several years now, but there is no sign of marriage, is this a feeling that is not in place, or do they have their own ideas about marriage? Of course, we don't know this, but judging from their sweet interaction, marriage seems to be an inevitable choice.

Many people have their own views on marriage, and these two idols will certainly not be an exception. Recently, Kim Hyun-ya expressed her question about marriage, so how did she answer it? Or when will they consider getting married? In fact, this is not the main thing, the most important thing is their success, which represents that open love is no longer the end of their careers!
When are Hyuna and Dawn planning to get married?
Singer Hyuna answered questions from fans about her plans to marry her long-time boyfriend, DAWN. Want to know her reaction? On October 10, Hyuna had a Q&A with fans through her social media, and one of the questions caught her attention, that is, her marriage plans.
One fan asked, "When are you going to get married?" Hyuna replied simply, "I don't know." I can't know how I feel. Hyuna also answered a fan's question about her current favorite song. She replied that it was a song that DAWN had been writing recently. On the same day, when Hyuna was asked to share "more information", she said she would cut her hair short.
Hyuna and DAWN began dating in May 2016, but didn't announce their relationship to the public until August 2018. The two K-pop idols met and fell in love when they were in Triple H, owned by CUBE Entertainment. When Hyuna appeared on the variety show "Brother I Know", she revealed that she had a crush on DAWN, who was still an intern at CUBE at the time and was preparing to debut.
At first, DAWN doesn't have any special feelings for Hyun-ya, but he eventually develops romantic feelings for her. So, when the female idol boldly confessed, he did not want to waste time and immediately formalized their relationship. Because of their long-term relationship, many fans can't help but wonder when they plan to get married.
In fact, this time the question, HyunYa actually did not reveal anything, let alone look at her mood, so when they will eventually get married is still a mystery, and even they may not plan to get married, anyway, marriage is also a form for them. However, their publicity and recognition mark a shift in K-pop's attitude towards dating!
K-pop idol open romance is no longer the end of a career
On the 9th of last month, K-pop couple HyunA and Dawn released their first collaborative album "1+1=1". The couple's romance takes center stage in their musical productions, highlighting a shift in South Korea's entertainment industry: Some performers overlook the widespread belief that falling in love ends their careers.
The couple parted ways completely in 2018 from former agency Cube Entertainment after their relationship was revealed, and then they were hired by Uncle Bird's company, P Nation, and are among the few K-pop stars to publicly announce their relationship and continue to work in the music industry.
A few weeks before the release of 1+1=1, in August, Bobby, a member of the K-pop group iKon, announced his marriage and said he would become a father in September. Since then, not only has he not been abandoned, but has been active in the band and later appeared on live broadcasts celebrating iKon's sixth anniversary.
Other K-pop stars, such as Exo's Chen and Oriental Shen's Shen Changmin, are also married, but have been active in the music business. K-pop singers can continue their careers after an open romance — although few have done so yet, suggests that the days when romance could threaten a singer's career may be over.
For some, getting married basically ends their singing careers. For example, Sunye of Wonder Girls in 2013 and Soyul of Crayon Pop in 2016, in 2001, park Joon-hyung, then 32, was almost expelled from K-pop singer group God because he was in love. Li Shengmin of the men's group Super Junior also left the group for a long time after marrying in 2014.
For others, a relationship known to the public isn't that harmful, like Jennie of the super girl group BLACKPINK, who dated EXO's Kai for a while.
In recent years, there have been a handful of celebrities who have openly had romances instead of hiding them in public until the paparazzi came to light. Some of these stars were supported by fans and the Korean public, while others were affected and their careers were boycotted.
Gyu Tag Lee, a professor of cultural studies at George Mason University Korea in South Korea, does not argue that these examples reflect an overhaul of industry norms or a cultural shift, each judged on its merits.
Li Guitai said: "Now changmin, who is the god of the East, he is already 'old enough' to get married. In addition, fans do know he has an official partner. However, Lee Sung-min from Super Junior and Chen from EXO are considered 'not old enough' to be unfit for marriage. ”
"In addition, fans also expressed their disappointment because the two of them did not be honest – the news of their marriage came so suddenly that, in some cases, their partner was pregnant, which made fans even more angry and disappointed."
Lee says the reason for this is that K-pop singers are specifically targeting a market that is underpinned by a quasi-social relationship between artists and fans — that is, in that relationship, fans create the illusion that they have an intimate relationship with their idols.
"As you can see, it's very contradictory." Lee said: "It has to do with the unique emotions of K-pop fans who think they support their stars and even 'elevate' them because they weren't famous at first and need help.
"So when they debuted and succeeded, fans felt they should reciprocate the loyalty they got from them. This 'reward' includes not having any problems that fans can't accept, such as drug use, violence, or relationships. ”
Lee said how fans react to celebrity romances depends on three factors: the popularity of the stars, their age or the longevity of their popular careers, and how they and their partners are perceived.
"They can accept celebrity relationships, for example, when the star is old enough (around 35 or older), when they're successful enough, when their partner is in good shape or likable."
Based on these factors, a star's career may be supported or damaged by revealing a relationship. For example, Hyuna is a solo singer with an artistic identity who has long been popular and therefore not as painful as DAWN, and after their relationship became public, Dawn's entire career was ruined, and he eventually had to leave the boy group Pentagon.
Lee said: "I know it may not be clear, but that's how KP fans feel and react to these events – they don't always agree. ”
However, Hyun-ya is rare, and most K-pop female singers will still keep their romances in their hearts when promoting their pop careers, or wait until their fans have invested in the later stages of their careers. And they don't usually use their romance as the basis for releasing a single or album.
In fact, this is related to everyone's personality, but there are still not many people who can have the courage to be their own, after all, this needs to bet on their entire career. Therefore, Kim Hyun-ya and DAWN have contributed to the transformation of the K-pop industry's concept of love. Do you think such a thing is worth it? Welcome to discuss!
