Oh well! Both "This Street 3" and Wang Jia'er were captured by the Great God of Chuanyu

This! Since the launch of "Street Dance", the hot search on Weibo has not stopped, and this hotly discussed variety show with a Douban 9.0 rating not only restores the original competitiveness of street dance, allows dancers to enter the crowd to interpret themselves with dance, but also allows more people to more intuitively understand what is street dance and feel what is the real spirit of street dance.

This! It's the Battle of Dance in the fourth episode of the third season of "Hip-Hop Dance"

At the same time, it also contracts my recent laugh points, which is the source of everyone's happiness.

Take the hot search of #Wang Jiaer Huang Bo pk Sichuan dialect a while ago, in the program, Captain Wang Jiaer tried to introduce the "little Ma Yun" from Chengdu in Sichuan dialect - the free dancer Shen Kaixiang, but was ridiculed by Huang Bo on the side that "there are less than five hundred kilometers away from Sichuan dialect", and even later the two directly studied the pronunciation of Sichuan dialect.

According to the development of this situation, I estimate that after the program is all broadcast, Wang Jiaer's Sichuan dialect may be better than Chinese. (Sneaky laughs)

Many people feel that compared with the first two seasons, the quality of works in this season is very high. But I also found in the audition stage that in this year's program, the contestants in the Sichuan-Chongqing region have sprung up and occupied almost half of the country, especially the Wang Jiaer team:

In the front, there are Chengdu veteran B-boy Yang Kai, Southwest Shuangxiao - Xiao Jie and Xiao Zhibin, then there are Sun Yan of Chengdu Dance State, Wang Yubei (Gai Gai) of Hello Dance, Chen Guanhong Bon of the Red House Dance Troupe, and Shen Kaixiang, a Sichuan free dancer who bumped into Ma Yun... In Chengdu's dance state alone, there are 15 contestants dressed up.

They are not only from Chengdu, but also have a very high reputation in the domestic street dance circle

This has also attracted everyone's discussion in Weibo:

Netizens discuss on Weibo

The Sichuan-Chongqing region is a quiet corner, giving the people in this land more pride and self-confidence, and there is also a southwestern frenzy in it. So, where did the "talent" of the Street Dance of the Sichuan-Chongqing people, who are now talked about by the people of the whole country, come from?

To this end, Da Shui Hua specially interviewed 3 dancers from Chengdu, represented by Chengdu, let Da Shui Hua take you to experience the street dance culture in Sichuan and Chongqing.

Teacher Popping of Chengdu Dance Studio, studied Popping for 12 years

I grew up in a small county town in Leshan, Sichuan, and I began to learn to dance street dance when I was in junior high school, but at that time, my understanding of street dance was very vague, and it was not until high school that I was really exposed to street dance for the first time.

At that time, a friend in the circle told me that there was a competition about street dance, so I rushed to Leshan with a curious attitude to see it, but no one expected that it was this game that strengthened the direction of learning street dance.

I remember watching the contestants fight offstage, only to find that the original street dance can be played so much fun, I didn't know anything about it before, and I thought that street dance was a means of playing handsome, cool and a kind of bubble girl.

After a year, I participated in the first hip-hop competition in my life, when I was still in my sophomore year of high school, I went to win the championship the day before, and the next day I came back in my friend's car to continue the class, which felt quite magical.

But because street dance was not yet popular at that time, and naturally there were no professional teachers, we could only watch Nam Hyun-joon's video while thinking about it ourselves. At that time, there was no dance classroom, and after school, I would go to the public square to play music and dance by myself, no matter what others said, it was a blind dance.

In 2012, I came to Chengdu to attend university, and for the first time, I was exposed to super first-line Dancers that could only be seen on video: for example, POP-KUN, he is the oldest batch of Poppers in South Korea and is recognized as a hip-hop OG in the circle. And one of popping's founders, poping-pete, who is now almost 60 years old, and we took a picture together.

It is no exaggeration to say that out of 10,000 people, only 100 people have learned to dance street dance. The hip-hop circle is a very small circle, and everyone is approachable to each other, not arrogant at all.

Among them, Chengdu's street dance circle is more harmonious, and you certainly can't imagine that there will be a gang in other places, and even when participating in the competition, it will interfere with you because it is not convinced to hate you. But none of this will be in Chengdu. On the contrary, each dance club will integrate with each other, and everyone will be friendly during the competition. Although it is now tending to be commercialized, Chengdu still maintains this characteristic.

In the eyes of many people, the first label for Chengdu is tolerance. But in addition to inclusion, it is also a "dare to play" city, and young people are more focused on what they want than on following the trend. "I can play whatever I want, and I want to play better." And it is this urban culture and hip-hop culture that fit together, so that both can show a state of independent self.

This year's "This! The third season of "Street Dance" may make everyone feel: how suddenly there are so many Sichuan-Chongqing players, and they are all very strong, which is what I found after participating in so many competitions over the years.

Where is the strength, just from the perspective of popping, you will find that in these Sichuan-Chongqing players, everyone's dancing style is diverse, not like the stereotype of the North, Shanghai and Guangzhou. This is also related to the development of the city, 5 years ago, the street dance competitions were concentrated in the north, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and there was a basic system very early. But the Sichuan area is different, there is no one to guide, there is no special bashi teaching conditions, so you can only follow your own way.

But that's where it's strong: some seemingly inconspicuous things are often unexpected.

Teacher Jazz of Chengdu Dance Studio, Teacher Jazz of Chengdu Red House Street Dance Studio

Although I studied folk dance in college, I still couldn't resist my love of hip-hop, I played everything at that time, like Hiphop, Jazz funk, and later under the influence of my teachers chika, wreiko, seishiro, mizue, I had my own understanding of Jazz, and I found my own direction and persevered.

Dance is for appreciation. Not only that, but it can also bring me happiness. Let's discover a different version of ourselves, when I was a child, I was an introverted, very non-talkative child, it is precisely because of the contact with street dance that changed my personality. It is also the motivation to support my continuous efforts to make myself better.

Team guest show

When I first came to Chengdu, I felt that the street dance atmosphere here was gradually rising, there were indeed many excellent dancers here, just after the freshman year, I met Huang Xiao, the teacher of Chuanyin, and entered the now more famous Hello Dance Dance Studio.

Just at that time, it was the eighth KOD (Asia's largest international street dance competition), teacher Huang Xiao contacted me at that time to say whether I was interested in going to the competition together, I didn't think about it and directly agreed, I just know, as long as I love, I can do anything. This is a sign that I officially began to enter the field of hip-hop, including exposure to hip-hop culture and a more correct understanding of hip-hop.

Last year, KIKI took her own women's Jazz team to the 12th KOD International Hip-Hop Competition

I still remember the first time I practiced before the competition, getting up at 6 o'clock every morning to practice early, and then rushing to the venue to practice for the competition.

At that time, the traffic was far less convenient than now, I was studying in Sichuan Division, after the morning work I wanted to do the bus to the school headquarters, and then take the school bus, a practice until 4 a.m., and then hurried back to the school, can not delay the 6 o'clock early work. It's no exaggeration to say that I can fall asleep in the car and have no control over whether my belongings will be stolen.

Daily practice

After the competition, I slowly integrated with everyone and had a clearer goal for my transformation and positioning. Although it means that I have to give up my folk dance major, I am still grateful for the basic skills I mastered during my college years because I studied folk dance.

Immediately after, I participated in the 10th KOD International Hip-Hop Competition and also participated in "This! It was the first season of Hip-Hop, when the director contacted me if I was interested in participating in "This! It's street dance", although I am not a battle-type player, but I also rushed to the brain, and I thought about the competition, I wanted to learn and broaden my knowledge.

Oh well! Both "This Street 3" and Wang Jia'er were captured by the Great God of Chuanyu

Participated in "This! It's KIKI from the first season of "Hip-Hop."

But the first season was a bit miserable, and almost a few Chengdu people advanced, and it was still a bit frustrating at that time. Now looking at it, the show is actually a process of players and mentors running into each other, everyone likes the style is different, recognition is not reflected in whether you advance, but whether your efforts are accepted by everyone.

In recent years, Chengdu's street dance culture has developed rapidly, and it has also invisibly narrowed the distance with the world. The atmosphere is getting better and better, and more and more Sichuan-Chongqing players appear in the program, indicating that they have now "walked" out, more and more players have advanced, and it also shows that the extension of street dance culture, Chengdu has been recognized by the public little by little.

Chengdu is a very artistic city with a lot of talent. People are not single, very rich, willing to try new things, and the speed of acceptance is also very fast. The young people in Chengdu today will continue to try new things, and add their own things, their own ideas, and what they want to express in the process. The hip-hop culture here is very diverse.

The first generation of Urabn dance dancers in China, the first generation of Beijing T.I members

I learned hip-hop dance really early, probably at the same time as Huang Jingxing, the "first person to pop in China", when I was still drifting north, and the North Dance Hall was just beginning to develop, and I was a Battle-type player from the beginning.

There are two reasons why I like dancing: the first is because of the breakdancing trend of the 80s, and the other is the spacewalk that Michael Jackson was all the rage of the year. But unfortunately, no one taught me until 2002, when I saw a dance program on CCTV: Dance World, and I was really attracted to dance.

Oh well! Both "This Street 3" and Wang Jia'er were captured by the Great God of Chuanyu

The new dance group in the early years was also an early member of the North Dance Hall

One episode is a hip-hop session, and there is a group called "New Dance Instrument", which is composed of four members: Mu Lin, Hu Mang, Li Qi and Bai Rui. I especially appreciated Bai Rui's dancing style, and I also studied a lot of it myself. In 2005, because of the choreography of a competition, I finally met Bai Rui from offstage, and he made me learn a lot of things and understand street dance more deeply. Since then, I have been formally exposed to hip-hop.

Yuan Ming's daily practice

After spending nearly 10 years in Beijing, at the age of 29, I decided to leave Beijing and return to Chengdu.

When I came back, I found that everyone was still stuck in the old-school street dance mode, and there were few choreographers. I've been working on that since then, especially when DEE/RIEHATA puts old-school elements to something new today, and they use currently popular elements and some popular music. The change of hip-hop has made a good transformation, which has also had a great impact on me and made my dance style unique.

I am a native of Chengdu, Chengdu is a city with less economic pressure, unlike Beijing, where everyone is rushing to make a living. When I was in Beijing, I was very stressed at work, and the class schedule was very full every week, about 16-18 lessons a week. At that time, the place where I lived was also far away, and I went out in the morning to wait for home at 10 o'clock at night, and the pace of life was very fast.

But in fact, all culture is actually linked to the economy, precisely because of the low price of Chengdu, the pressure is slightly less. This also determines that Chengdu people are willing to understand all the culture, spiritual pursuits, and all beautiful things except life, it can be said that the slow pace of Chengdu is more conducive to incubating the development of local street dance culture and the cultivation of atmosphere.

Today, Yuan Ming, as a choreographer, takes his students to the Just Battle International Street Dance Competition

The current atmosphere in Chengdu, Wubang has become commercialized and more mature, rather than a bunch of children playing there like before, the market has expanded, and the culture has further expanded. The resources of the largest cities have attracted Chengdu, whether it is the number of dancers or the proportion, it should be ranked in the top three in the country.

As for why the Sichuan-Chongqing players are so strong, I personally think that the Sichuan-Chongqing players have a relatively large brain hole, especially Chengdu people, such as Xiao Jie, who will show more things through the form of street dance, and have more ideas, eccentric. Chengdu people also love to play, which is actually the essence of street dance culture, playing dance culture well, it depends on the individual performance of the contestants and the stage performance.

"Bashi is more important here than anything"

There is a place in Chengdu called "Judu", and after living here for nearly 5 years, I also think that this is the best summary of Chengdu, just like the magic capital of Shanghai, the imperial capital of Beijing, and the demon capital of Guangzhou.

Here, the spirit of entertainment is buried in the cultural genes of the Sichuan-Chongqing people like the degree of alcohol itself.

Oh well! Both "This Street 3" and Wang Jia'er were captured by the Great God of Chuanyu

This is the pride of Chengdu people

In summary, the reason why the street dance culture and atmosphere in sichuan-Chongqing is thriving is nothing more than the combination of several most intuitive factors: relatively stable economic level, relative balance between work and life, and the uninhibited and interesting soul of Sichuan-Chongqing people.

And these conditions, in the eyes of dance creators, are extremely precious.

Oh well! Both "This Street 3" and Wang Jia'er were captured by the Great God of Chuanyu

Chengdu street dance used to be the gathering place - the new central square

As these 3 interviewees in the Chengdu street dance circle said, there is always a magical attraction in Sichuan and Chongqing. The infiltration of jianghu culture, the rebellious boldness in nature, the changeable tone of dialects, and the rebellion of young people have together generated the connection between street dance variety shows and the southwest region. It is precisely because of this that the entire Sichuan-Chongqing region has been brilliantly spirited, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
