It looks like former WWE champion Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson won't be in the 2021 Strong Survival Contest, but WWE still plans to celebrate his 25th anniversary.
In the 1996 Strong Survival Contest, Dwayne Johnson made his debut at WWE. Earlier this year, it was reported that WWE planned to have Johnson appear at the event to celebrate his 25th anniversary after his debut at the event, which will be held in Madison Square Garden. Survival of the Strong is also believed to be the next step in a feud between Johnson and WWE global champion Roman Reigns, who will meet in Wrestling Mania 38 in Dallas next April.
Update, due to its Hollywood schedule, Johnson will not be able to appear in this year's Strong Survival Contest. Still, WWE will refer to his 25th anniversary in some way.
Regarding the match between Johnson and Roman, it was noted that the focus has shifted to Wrestling Mania 39 in Los Angeles in 2023. Someone at WWE is said to have insisted that Johnson's match against Roman would take place in Los Angeles, not next year's Dallas.
