From Chengdu to Chengdu, from athletes to coaches
From May 27th to 30th, the 24th China Collegiate Badminton Championships Was held in Shuangliu, Chengdu, with a total of 126 athletes from 19 universities across the country participating in the team and individual competitions. Among the participating coaches and players, there are many badminton world champions and members of the national badminton training team, the most eye-catching is the world champions Wang Shixian and Wang Yihan, two former teammates once again gathered in Chengdu Shuangliu.
The Shuangliu Sports Center and the Shuangliu Base of the National Badminton Team Training Camp are only one road away, and after the base was put into use in 2015, Wang Shixian and Wang Yihan came here several times with the national team for training. Guo Yu's last training camp before leaving for the Rio Olympics was in Shuangliu, which was also the last time Wang Shixian and Wang Yihan participated in the training as athletes in the national team.
In the blink of an eye, five years have passed, and the two former team members have reunited in Shuangliu, and their identities have changed, and they have become "Teacher Wang" and "Coach Wang". Wang Shixian is a teacher at Beijing Sport University, and Wang Yihan teaches at East China Normal University.
Usually on campus, they are either counselors, carry out student work, or physical education teachers, participate in badminton teaching, and there are some changes in job functions. Back in Shuangliu, sitting on the coach's bench, although not playing by themselves, both teachers Wang found the feeling of playing on the field that year. In the women's singles final, Yang Ruiwen of East China Normal University won the championship point with a huge advantage of 20-12, but the coach Wang Yihan sitting behind her still frowned, and her expression was engaged and nervous. It wasn't until Yang Ruiwen won the match 21-15 that the teacher Wang was relieved and smiled.
The Universiade has been postponed, and the storm of youth is still there
Affected by the epidemic, the 31st Summer Universiade, which was originally scheduled to be held in Chengdu in August this year, was postponed to next year, and the holding of the Chinese University Badminton Championships has made up for the youth of Chengdu that belongs to this summer and belongs to college students.
Seeing the college students competing on the field and re-encountering former teammates and familiar referees, Wang Shixian said: "The previous memories have returned, we are still participants in badminton. ”
In the final of the mixed team competition, the China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) team led by Lin Guipu, Zhang Songye and Ni Bowen defeated the Southwest University team of Zhang Shuxian and Dai Wang 3-0 to win the championship.
The competition for the individual events ended on May 30, with Ren Pengdeng defeating Pang Yucai 2-0 to win the men's singles title; Yang Ruiwen defeating Dai Wang 2-1 to win the women's singles title; Dong Weijie/Shen Lishun defeating Guo Ruohan/Ren Xiangyu to win the men's doubles title; Asian Youth Women's Doubles Champion and National Championship Women's Doubles Runner-up Li Yijing/Luo Xumin reversed the victory over Qiao Shijun/Zhang Shuxian to win the women's doubles championship; Zhou Ligang/Chen Lu defeated Zhang Songye/Tan Yue in the mixed doubles final to win the title.
