He has not been in the jianghu for more than two thousand years, but the jianghu has always had his legend...

In the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the Zhou Dynasty's qi will run out.

For a time, there were many princes and soldiers.

The world is in contention.

According to the laws of history, the world of great strife will produce strange people.

This strange man has extraordinary skills, and his level and style are low-key, similar to jin Yong's sweeping monk two thousand years later. Although the two elders are far away from each other, if we talk about the influence on the general trend of the world, the tall people in the novel cannot catch up with the predecessors in reality no matter how accelerated.

Generally speaking, a person who is taller than a tall man, we call him a god man.

Among the representatives of the ancient Chinese warriors, there is such a god man:

He was born a monk, never went to the battlefield in his life, but taught hundreds of fierce men and resourceful men in the unified army;

He has influenced Chinese history for thousands of years, and there is still a lingering aftersound – there are always legends of him in the rivers and lakes.

He is the sixth legendary figure in our "Ancient Chinese Warriors Series".

Who is he?

1 Three legends, a mysterious man

Let's take a look at the resume of this god-man:

He has not been in the jianghu for more than two thousand years, but the jianghu has always had his legend...

The legendary life of this man must start from a more magical story.

A white-haired old man, on his deathbed, handed a roll of bamboo with a trembling hand to the apprentice who was guarding the bed, and then swallowed the last breath of his life.

After the death of the teacher xian who had taught him for 9 years, after dealing with the aftermath, the young man who was still immersed in grief stared at the relic, puzzled - except for the word "Heavenly Book" left on the skin of the master, there was not a word in the bamboo jane.

This action, he repeated hundreds of times, still found nothing.

Until one day, when night fell, he missed his ancestor and lit a pine torch and spread out the bamboo again. Suddenly, the golden light of the Dao Dao flashed on the bamboo jane, and the line of tadpole text shone brightly, startling him to jump up: Mo Fei, this is the "Golden Book" that is spread in the world!

Of course, this is just a legend. Most of the so-called "miracles" were invented by later generations, but we can infer from this that his master was very skilled.

Some people say that his teacher is Lao Tzu. This statement is not very reliable, Lao Tzu lived in an era of about 600 BC to 470 BC, from the resume, without taking a time shuttle, the two should not have the opportunity to meet.

Let's talk about another legend.

According to legend, he served as the prime minister of the Chu state, but the author consulted the information and saw the name of the 41rd Ling Yin (that is, the prime minister) of the Chu state during the Spring and Autumn And Warring States period, and there was no ghost valley in it. However, without the practical experience of strategizing above the temple, his later brilliant achievements lost their practical support.

Let's infer it again for the time being: he may have served as Ling Yin in a smaller Fang country, and because that small country was too low-key, posterity felt that he was not worthy of the height of this peerless person, so he pretended to be a powerful Chu state.

Next, a third legend.

In Taoist literature, his name is Xuanweizi, and he is revered as Xuanwei Zhenren, who ranks among the true immortals of Dongfu and can be reborn and transcend life and death. It is recorded in the Proverbs that Qin Shi Huang once asked him:

"When Qin Shi Huang was in the first emperor, there were many dead people in the garden, and there were birds in the shape of this grass that fell to the ground, and the dead sat up. The First Emperor sent mr. Beiguo Ghost Valley to ask the immortal grass on the Yingzhou of the East Sea of Yundong, raw Qiong Tanaka. Qin Shi Huang heard Mr. Ghost Valley say that he sent Xu Fu into the jade vegetables and golden vegetables..."

This matter is also not very reliable, because Qin Shi Huang was born more than 100 years later than Oniguzi. If there is indeed a thing, the "Mr. Ghost Valley" that Qin Shi Huang asked for advice may be a descendant of Ghost Valley.

2 Gold Medal Military + Diplomatic Academy

He has not been in the jianghu for more than two thousand years, but the jianghu has always had his legend...

Statue of Ghost Valley Zi in Yunmeng Mountain, west of Qi County, Henan. Figure | Figureworm Creative

Later, the story line is relatively clear.

He chose to become a hermit in the "Ghost Valley Ridge" near the city of Yangcheng in Eastern Zhou, reading books, meditating, and practicing taoism every day; in-depth study of mathematics, divination, six tao three strategies, marching in front of the army, studying and collecting styles, judging eloquently, cultivating true nature, taking food guidance, dispelling illness and prolonging life...

Note: During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, it was not uncommon for the warriors to choose to retreat, and the appearance of several worldly wizards was also more likely.

As his learning became better and better, his reputation crossed the geographical barrier and spread thousands of miles, and countless young people with lofty ideals came to study with him.

This young man who had wept at the bed of his mentor had finally become a generation of masters, Oniguzi.

In his lifetime, he has never been on the battlefield or experienced a sword battle. However, from this list of disciples in the annals of history, we see a large number of fierce (even madmen), deceitful strategists, and diplomats of the United Army:

Su Qin, Zhang Yi, Sun Bing, Pang Juan,

Shang Martingale, Li Si, Lü Buwei, Bai Qi,

Li Mu, Wang Qi, Gan Mao, Le Yi,

Mao Sui, Zhao Hao, Li Wu, Xu Fu...

Interestingly, The admission criteria of Teacher Oniguzi are quite detached, and they never interfere with the political tendencies and personality development of their disciples. In the Eastern Zhou Dynasty when the masses were competing for hegemony, his protégés did not stand in the same trench, such as Su Qin, who opposed the strong Qin, and Zhang Yi, who assisted the Qin state, and Then Sun Zhen and Pang Juan, who were actually brothers of the same disciple.

Ren's disciples fought in a strange way, and the qiankun changed color, and the wise man of the world of great controversy, Mr. Ghost Guzi, was outside the world, and his heart was in Taoyuan, and he was unmoving.

Note here that the era spanned by the above disciples was far beyond the normal lifespan of human beings at that time. Some of them were taught by Oniguzi himself, others may be apprentices, and there are also self-taught people who call themselves Onigu protégés.

After all, at that time, if you could go to school under the hands of Oniguzi, it was equivalent to being plated with the aura of graduating from the world's famous military academy, and the gold content was no less than that of West Point and Frunze thousands of years later.

So, in this famous school, what kind of courses will the flowers of the motherland train?

3 Cultivate the mind, cultivate the arts, cultivate the Tao, and cultivate the world

To sum up, the Oni Valley Theory mainly covers the following four levels:

First, cultivate the mind.

* Affection and Taoism.

The heart of love is the heart of the Tao, and the heart of the Tao is also the heart of the heart. There is no duplication between emotion and monasticism.

* Heart disorder.

No one is perfect, and all men have mental obstacles. Seeing no one, boasting, not seeking much understanding, being ambitious, fighting for the wind, being clever, etc. are all mental obstacles, all stem from conceit. Removing mental obstacles is the foundation of monasticism.

* Feel him.

To remove the mental obstacle lies in self-realization, in self-realization, in awareness of him. So to practice, first realize yourself, and then realize him.

* Delusions.

In this world, there are only two kinds of human hearts that have no delusions: one is the dead man, and the other is the god man. Don't think about completely controlling delusions, knowing that delusions are too harmful, that is.

It can be seen from this that the cultivation of the mind, conforming to nature, eliminating distractions, understanding oneself, and oneself and others, is the basis of all learning.

Second, cultivation

* Moyi.

Figuring out what the other person likes and seducing them is a kind of spying and lobbyist. Those who are good at mo, such as those who fish in linyuan, as long as they use the bait properly, the fish will be hooked.

* Kind words and speechless.

The good-talker, whose words are like a river of words, and the words are fascinating, can make others think what they do not want and do what they do not want; if they do not speak, God is as determined as a mountain, and the momentum is like the arrow of a bow, which can make him uneasy and uncertain, like falling into a cloud of five miles.

* 捭৹.

Opening is opening, that is, speaking; closing is closing, that is, not speaking; closing is the art of opening and closing mouths. The strategy for speaking out varies from person to person:

Speak with the wise and rely on a wide range of knowledge;

Speak with the blogger, relying on speculative methods;

Speak with the discerner, relying on grasping the main points;

Speak with your nobles, relying on the explanation of the situation;

Speak with the rich, relying on high power and strength;

Speaking with the poor, relying on the temptation of profit;

Speak with the untouchables, rely on humility to treat others;

Speak with the brave, rely on bravery to speak straight.

* Plan and then move.

Go players master more than 180 pieces (181 black and 180 white) pieces, which are dead in the box, and will be vivid when arranged on the chessboard, I have you, you have me. If one son falls wrong, the light will lose the land and lose the soldiers, and the heavy will lose the whole situation. To move a chess piece, you must plan and then move.

* Determination.

Everything under the heavens is born and dies because of decision, and it is also determined by decision that its development direction is determined. There are two types of decisions:

Things that are easy to decide and things that are not easy to decide. For things that are not easy to decide, it is necessary to choose the lesser of the two evils, and the weight of the two benefits, and then make a decision.

He has not been in the jianghu for more than two thousand years, but the jianghu has always had his legend...

These skills have been fully exerted by the Zongheng family under the Gate of the Ghost Valley, leaving countless wonderful fragments for future generations of literary historians, and we will elaborate on them later.

Third, monasticism.

* The Four Realms of Enlightenment.

In order, they are to hear the Word, to know, to see the Way, and to attain the Word.

Initially, it is to contact the "Tao" and then understand it- the word "know" is very remarkable; on this basis, by practicing, we can reach the level of "seeing the Tao"; and finally, we can reach the realm of "attaining the Tao" of the unity of the Tao, the unity of the mind and the action, and the state of "attaining the Tao" at will.

* Heaven, Saint, and Man.

The Way of Heaven is the way of nature, the Way of the Holy Way is the way of the world, and the way of humanity is the way of life. The three paths complement each other and lose one from the other, and we must recognize the connection between them, learn together, understand together, and practice together.

* Kendo.

Corresponding to the three paths of heaven, saint and man, there are three swords.

The Holy Sword, also known as the Sword of heavenly dao, takes the Tao as the back, takes virtue as the front, takes the yin and yang as the qi, and takes the five lines of the handle, which can break the heavenly light on the top and the Jedi dimension on the bottom;

The Sword of The Wise, also known as the Sword of the Son of Heaven, takes the people as the back, takes the sages as the front, responds to the Heavenly Dao, the lower Shun Geography, and the Neutralization of Public Opinion;

The common sword, also known as the human sword, takes steel as the front, takes the alloy as the back, takes the cold forest as the qi, can behead the head on the top, chop the feet on the bottom, and break the intestines in the middle.

* Machine Heart and Dao Heart.

The mind is the technique, that is, the various tactical means and technical methods for achieving political, military or economic ends; the Taoist mind is the essence, the mind of the mastery. Obviously, if there is no Daoist mind to rule, the higher the technique, the more deviation it will be, and the so-called "crooked door and evil path" will be embarked on. This can be seen from the different endings of The disciples of Teacher Oniguzi.

Any kind of learning has the distinction of the Tao of Technique, and it is necessary to properly handle the relationship between the Art and the Tao in order to achieve the purpose of cultivating the profound cultivation of the Dao. Therefore, people who are good at using soldiers are not belligerent -- the way to use soldiers lies in the soldiers who yield without fighting, in the four or two thousand jun, and finally turn the dry into a jade.

Fourth, cultivate the world.

* Watch the world.

Emphasis is placed on in-depth observation on a comprehensive basis. For example, if you look at a distant mountain, you can't just rely on your eyes, but also use your mind to discern everything you see, and find the connections and veins in it, in order to understand the whole picture.

Pay attention to the trend of the world, the focus is to discover the various forces that promote the operation of the general trend. The saints know the times and use the situation according to the times, so they can rule the world; the traitors will go against the times and take advantage of the situation to do evil, so they can chaos the world. Here again the interaction between tao and art is proposed.

* Balance of power.

Here we mainly talk about the conditions and role of "convergence" - maintaining the balance of forces. If the Qin people were powerless, the three Jin Dynasties would not succeed. Only when the Qin people are strong and strong can the Three Jins have a sense of crisis and are willing to join in.

Note: The Three Jins refers to the combined name of the Zhao, Wei, and Korean states during the Warring States period, and now refers to Shanxi Province.

* The world is divided.

One is the combination of names and realities, such as the king of Zhou Wu. After the King of Zhou Ping moved east, the Zhou chamber declined, the princes sat large, and the general trend of the world began to move towards another state - the name was worthy of the points, and eventually it became an incurable chaos.

* Speculate on the world.

It is necessary to speculate on the desires of the people who can influence the hearts of the people of the world, including kings, ministers, and wise men, as well as those who hold military power and have popularity. To judge people, they should observe the colors of their words, hear their voices, see their deeds, and then deduce the tendencies of their hearts.

* The rule of the human heart.

Here we mainly talk about the dialectic of "to cure chaos must cure people's hearts." The rule of the world lies in the fact that the people's hearts are not ruled; the people's hearts are not ruled, and the desires are overflowing. Therefore, if you want to rule the world, you must first rule the hearts of the people; if you want to rule the hearts of the people, you must first cure chaos. Curing chaos is only a means, and governing people's hearts is the right way.

4 Sprinkling beans into soldiers, what is it?

According to legend, in 4600 BC, when the Xuannu assisted the Yellow Emperor, she used the method of combat deduction of sprinkling beans into soldiers. However, due to the long history, no related bamboo books have been left behind.

In the oniguzi era, this knowledge similar to modern wargames has a new inheritance. When teaching Sun Zhen and Pang Juan, he used the method of chopping grass for horses and scattering beans for soldiers. In fact, this is to use small stones, wooden sticks, mung beans, soybeans and other readily available props to set up troops, convenient and intuitive study of military issues.

Many ancient strategists and generals did this. The cleverness of Oniguzi lies in the use of this simple method to illustrate the profound strategic thinking of soldiers. He set up a "one-word long snake array" for the students to carefully observe and experience: although the one-word array is simple, it is like a spirit snake, hitting its head and tail attacking; hitting its tail, hitting its head; hitting its waist, head and tail attacking together.

The little green beans were injected into the military strategy and planning techniques, so that the mountains and rivers, the form of the army, the changes in the battlefield, the number of resources, and the countermeasures were clear at a glance. This is almost very similar to the quantitative methods of modern combat laboratories. This advanced military teaching method is still widely used in military academies at home and abroad to this day.

Of course, in the 21 st century of informationization, many military academies and universities have advanced the sand table operation of sprinkling beans into soldiers into electronic forms, and their essence is still to study operational issues in depth with the construction of an image battlefield environment, the combat posture of the enemy and ourselves, and its dynamic action process.

Of course, it is not surprising that in the Taoist books, this story has been written into a myth - the immortal Ghost Guzi turned a bowl of green beans into a heavenly soldier god general, and the two teams of red and soap fought.

He has not been in the jianghu for more than two thousand years, but the jianghu has always had his legend...

5 Core strategic thinking: win without a fight

Cultivators generally pay attention to conforming to nature and living with the people,000 people, and they are not very belligerent.

In the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, when the princely states had to solve problems, they generally did not put fruit refreshments, and everyone sat down to eat and talk, but first the guys to fight a war. This model is quite tiring and costly, and the more you fight, the poorer the country and the more difficult the people are.

In this context, Oniguzi took the lead in summing up the overall strategy of "stealth invisibility, often better than indisputable and effortless" - to grasp combat readiness and study military issues, but not to easily launch war, in order to seek victory without war.

This is the only way to survive and become strong in the world of great strife.

The counselors lobbied and lobbied among the nations, the princesses married and married between the nations, and the sons of the princes were often sent to other countries as protons to ensure the covenant of the alliance, all in the practice of the strategy of "stealth is invisible, often better than no dispute". Resolving conflicts through lobbying, marrying, and hostages, and avoiding knife and soldier encounters, was a good deal in those years.

This strategic thinking is mainly embodied in the three works of Oniguzi's teacher:

"Ghost Valley"

As a masterpiece of strategy, it concentrates many practical methods of political planning, military planning, diplomatic wisdom, business strategy, psychological speculation, and lobbying skills; at the same time, it unabashedly expounds the art of fighting for power, the method of provoking dissension, the sinister marching of soldiers, and so on, and expounds a series of basic knowledge of vertical and horizontal affairs in a grand manner. Although it worked, it had a mixed reputation in history because it did not conform to mainstream morality.

The Seven Techniques of Yin Runes

This book is about the Seven Arts, that is, a set of cultivation techniques of self-cultivation, cultivation, benefit, hiding, and brain health.

Five Dragons Sheng Shen Fa: Nourish qi like the five dragons returning to the heart

Spirit Turtle Raising Method: Nourishing spirits like a spirit turtle walking

Tengsnake Real Intention Method: Strong will like Tengsnake unswerving

Ambush Bear Division: Concealed ability like the Ambush Bear Hidden Form

Dove Scattering Method: Spread your wings like a bird flying

Beast Rotation Method: Use wisdom like a ball like a beast

Lingyi Loss And Joy Method: Predict winning and losing like Lingyi

In the modern sense, this is a course that integrates philosophy, psychology, health care, and bionics. Through the teaching of nature and the guidance of the situation, the realm of the unity of heaven and man and the unity of man and sword is achieved.

"The Inner Biography of Guan Ling Yin Xi"

This is a Taoist treatise, focusing on the theoretical principle of Taoist respect for nature, quietness, and non-ostentation, as well as the health care method of fasting and eating; expounding the concept of greed for a short life, sincerity in the heart, and punishment for evil, advocating the use of the "Tao" to purify all sentient beings.

In addition, the book records the historical stories respected by Taoists such as Lao Tzu's exit from the customs, Yin Xi's worship of Lao Tzu, Lao Tzu's punishment of Xu Jia, Yin Xi Qingyang's wanton search for teachers, and Lao Tzu's Hua Hu, and provides sage specimens for posterity.

From the soldier's point of view, this is the art of mind cultivation. As mentioned above, if people do not cultivate their minds and cultivate the Tao, no matter how much they learn, they are prone to deviate, and they are likely to end up being confused by the techniques and taking their own troubles.

From the works of Oniguzi, we can learn a lot of knowledge that soldiers must read and use for marching, which is profound and simple, and provides several methodological and thinking samples at the strategic and campaign tactical levels for future generations.

6 Actual operation = 捭阖 + Vertical and horizontal?

Oniguzi developed lobbying into a military discipline.

The "Letter of the Zongheng Family", a total of 13 articles, specializes in political advice and diplomatic public relations strategies, and pays special attention to the "advice" of the emperor as the target of lobbying. Some of these elements are similar to the views of modern psychology.

He has not been in the jianghu for more than two thousand years, but the jianghu has always had his legend...

For the "Book of the Zongheng Family" and the Zongheng Family's style, there are not many Confucian scholars and doctors in the past who have praised and praised it, and there are many satirical and slanderers. The reason is simple, many people think that this book is about clever words and eloquence, which is inconsistent with the traditional moral standard of a gentleman who is "sensitive to words and sensitive to deeds".

The famous students of Oniguzi's teacher have applied the art of vertical and horizontal transformation to political lobbying, and successfully achieved the goal of "winning without fighting".

One was Zhang Yi, a heavy minister of the Qin state.

The Biography of Zhang Yilie says:

"Zhang Yiren, Wei Renye." First taste with Su Qinju Mr. Ghost Valley, academic. Su Qin thought he was inferior to Zhang Yi. ”

Through lobbying, he greatly divided the relations between the six countries, causing them to panic for a long time, "Zhang Zi was angry and the princes were afraid."

Another disciple, Su Qin, recorded in the Chronicle of History:

"Su Qin, Eastern Zhou Luoyang people also." The Eastern Affairs Master is Yu Qi, and the Xi is Mr. Onigu. ”

After graduation, according to the teachings of his mentor, he spent 3 years traveling around the world, visiting the terrain, customs and customs of mountains and rivers, so as to speculate on the people's hearts and the general trend of the world. When he arrived in the Yan Kingdom, this famous university senior student was appreciated by the boss Yan Wengong, gave him a famous car BMW gold and silver gift, was sent out to envoy Zhao Guo, and fully used the learned techniques of the Zhao Dynasty to persuade Zhao Suhou to unite with Yan, Han, Wei, Qi, and Chu to jointly oppose the Qin State, which is known in history as "Hezhong".

Note: North and south are vertical, east and west are horizontal. Taking the Warring States seven heroes as an example, the Qin state is located in the west of the Central Plains, and the land of the other six countries is connected from north to south, so it is called "hezhong".

Su Qin succeeded, and transformed into a longitudinal length that admired the seal of the Six Kingdoms. In fact, this position is a bit like the head of a small United Nations organization, with a small name and limited powers, and cannot command the armies of the six countries.

However, he was not worried, because as long as the vertical posture was formed, it could create a strategic deterrent to the common enemy. Under the personal planning of Su Qin, the Six Kingdoms decided to "drink blood for an alliance" in the Zhao Kingdom and swore to resist Qin.

Sure enough, after receiving the letter of indulgence, the ambitious Qiang Qin did not dare to send troops to Guguan for 15 years.

It should be noted here that Zhang Yi and Su Qin were only representatives of lianheng and hezhong in the Warring States period, and due to the difference in birth age, the two did not form a direct confrontation situation.

In 1973, the "Warring States Zongheng Family Book" was unearthed from the No. 3 Han Tomb of Mawangdui in Changsha, which recorded that Su Qin died in 284 BC and Zhang Yi died in 310 BC, when the master brother was already in the Qin state, the master brother was still a young lobbyist and had no opportunity to directly confront.

Qin Xiang ZhangYi's contemporary rival was Gongsun Yan, the representative figure of Hezhong.

Note: Gongsun Yan, a Yin and Jin of wei during the Warring States period, was in Qin in the fifth year of King Huiwen of Qin (333 BC), was a great liangzuo, and later lived in Wei, and held important official positions in the qin, wei, and Korea. One of the representatives of the Zongheng School in the Warring States period, he twice advocated and contacted the various states to jointly resist the Qin.

In general, the art of vertical and horizontal transformation has created a methodology that combines the strategic theory of soldiers with politics, economy, diplomacy and other fields, and at the same time, it is also a general speculative technique that can deal with multi-faceted problems, which can produce the miraculous effect of borrowing external forces to strengthen domestic demand and take advantage of the general trend to push the situation, which has been widely praised and imitated by later generations.

Once again, it is not surprising that because of its "dark" temperament conspiring in the dark room, it has been sick by many people with moral appearances, and it is sealed in the secret room for self-observation.

In 320 BC, Wang Xue, Xuanweizi and Oniguzi rode the crane, and a generation of military masters who were the masters of divination, military science, travel studies, and birth science were thus "whisked away and buried their merits and names".

In peacetime, the lessons of war are collectively forgotten again and again, until another war suddenly arrives, and only after paying a bloody price will it be suddenly awakened.

The Bing family has flourished again and again in Chinese history, and then, again and again, it has been suppressed and forgotten.

A mature country and a mature nation must not forget the disasters and lessons of war; even when the country is at peace and prosperity for a long time, it is still necessary to carry forward the tradition of attaching importance to national defense and the military, so that the alarm bells will always sound and the armament will always be renewed.

The worldwide research boom of Chinese bingjia theory has been enduring, and it is of great significance to re-excavate and discover the value of ancient Chinese bingjia at the key historical node of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Therefore, Uncle Ku invited Jiang Yamin, a researcher at the Former Department of Combat Theory and Doctrine Research of the Academy of Military Sciences, to launch a series of articles on "Ancient Chinese Soldiers", one per week, for the benefit of readers.

Spanning 4600 years, this series tells the stories of 38 representative figures of soldiers who exerted a major influence on China's military and even historical progress from the beginning of Chinese civilization to the end of the Qing Dynasty, and interprets the legendary military books and ancient formations that have been enshrined or even deified by posterity.
