Yang Bingsheng, deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, said that on September 25, when the Hong Kong police were checking smuggling ships in the waters around Shazhou, a law enforcement boat was rammed by a smuggling speedboat (commonly known as "Dafei"), causing four police officers to fall into the water, of which Lam Wan-yee, senior inspector of the Hong Kong Marine Police, unfortunately died in the line of duty.
