The Chinese Go team is a team with a heritage, and generations of outstanding chess players have made China's Weiqi cause flourish and a steady stream of Go talents through passing on the help. In the post-70s generation of the Chinese Go team, there are 7 chess players of the Dragon Character Generation, known as the "Seven Little Dragons" (Chang Hao, Shao Weigang, Zhou Heyang, Wang Lei, Luo Xianhe, Liu Jing, Ding Wei), the oldest of these seven, the first to rise to the ninth dan, the first to win the national individual championship and the title of domestic chess battle, the first to go to the sea, this person is shao Weigang, the boss of the Dragon Character Generation.

Shao Weigang was born in Shanghai in 1973, with the delicacy of a Shanghai man, from a young age he began to learn chess at the age of 8, when he was 11 years old, he was lucky to be discovered by Chen Zude Jiudan, when Chen Zude found two geniuses from Shanghai, one thin, one fat, thin is Chang Hao, fat is Shao Weigang. After entering the national training team for three years, he entered the first stage, and after more than ten years of hard work, he was finally promoted to the ninth dan in 1998, and was the first of the seven little dragons to be promoted to the ninth dan. In addition, in the "Seven Little Dragons", he was the first to go to the sea and founded the Qingfeng Network, and the later "Qingfeng Eight Sons" came from this.
As the leading big brother of the Seven Little Dragons, the achievements naturally have to play an exemplary and leading role. Shao Weigang's professional experience is not smooth, at first two years he has repeatedly lost battles, his mood is also relatively low, except for a third LG Cup final four, the other are lackluster, but he is positive and optimistic, repeated defeats, not only summing up experience but often telling himself that he can do it. Through hard work he grew up and got out of the predicament of losing all the time.
In mid-December 1999, the Chunlan Cup became a turning point, he easily qualified in the Ying Cup Selection Tournament, eliminated his teacher Ma Xiaochun in the Chess Saint Competition, and defeated his friend Chang Hao in the fifth NEC Cup to win the championship trophy. At the same time, he became the first chess player in the history of the NEC Cup to win two championships in this tournament, and Shao Weigang only said lightly after the game that he was lucky.
Shao Weigang's main achievements are: the national individual championship in 1992 and the "Straits Cup" national invitational championship in 1989. He has won the 2nd "Newcomer King" Championship, the 2nd NEC Cup Champion, the 3rd Friendship Cup Champion, the 5th NEC Cup Champion, the Ahantongshan Cup Runner-up, the Celebrity Battle Runner-up, and the 2004 "King of Kings" Tournament Runner-up.
Although the professional record cannot be compared with chang hao, a fellow who joined the national team, he has made his due contribution as a big brother.
Shao Weigang has always been grateful to his mentor Ma Xiaochun, although Ma Xiaochun feels that it is only a little guidance to the juniors, but Shao Weigang always believes that Ma Xiaochun is still his teacher, Ma Xiaochun and Shao Weigang rarely play chess together, but Shao Weigang often gives Ma Xiaochun the finished game. Ma Xiaochun's criticism, especially the chess moves and thinking methods in it, Shao Weigang felt that he had benefited deeply.
It is true that Shao Wei just occupied the first place in many of the Seven Little Dragons, but there was one thing he ranked last, that is, marriage.
On August 15, 2009, Shao Weigang, the "boss" of the National Go Team, bid farewell to his singleness and held a wedding ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Beijing International Art Garden doctoral student Li Xin of the Communication University of China. Li Xin studied at the Communication University of China, and later obtained master's and doctoral degrees, and stayed on to teach. Good things are not afraid of late, although at the age of 36 to enter the palace of marriage, but both sides are talented, and love each other, so the perfect marriage is a little later.
Shao Weigang, a humble gentleman who wins or loses indifferently, will always use his persistence and courage to create wonderful.
