If you don't go deep into it, you will never know what "treasure" is hidden in the depths of the Qinling Mountains.
The Qinling Mountains, the father of China, stretch for more than 1,600 kilometers, are the north-south watershed of China's climate, geography, water system and culture. The main body of Qinling Mountain is in Shaanxi, and the main peak of Qinling Mountain, Taibai Mountain and Xiyue Huashan Mountain, are well-known scenic spots that everyone is familiar with. In addition to the magnificent natural scenery, the depths of the Qinling Mountains are also nourished by more than 5,000 kinds of plants and 600 kinds of animals, making it one of the 11 key areas of global biodiversity.
It is said that "there is no idle grass in Qinling", and when I walked into it, I found that this was indeed the case.
Because of my work, I came to the small town of Liuba, surrounded by the Qinling Mountains. Liuba is located in the north of Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, in the hinterland of the southern foothills of the Qinling Mountains, and is the second least populous county in Shaanxi. Liuba County is surrounded by the lofty mountains of Qinling Mountains, and the ecological environment is very good, with a forest coverage rate of more than 91%.
Our trip to Liuba is not a regular tourist route, but mainly to investigate the Qinling Mountains. Under the leadership of local compatriots, we walked into several ditches in Liuba and encountered many magical animals and plants hidden in the depths of the Qinling Mountains.

From the first day of the trip, we encountered something "unusual".
For our first dinner on arrival at Liuba, we were able to taste local specialties. Fried bacon with potato chips, wood ear bacon, shiitake mushroom greens... They are all mountain delicacies. Mulberry leaf tea is the first time to see, it is said that it is picked from the Qinling Mountains to dry, as well as weight loss, blood sugar lowering effects.
In the evening we stayed in the homestay with a small yard, surrounded by flowers and plants planted a lot. A super large mosquito was found in the room, its feet all spread out, the size of a child's palm. The first time I saw such a big mosquito, I was really shocked.
In the middle of the night I heard movement on the top of the room upstairs (we were in a bungalow) and got up the next day and the owner said it should be squirrels making a fuss. In the morning, there was a moth in the yard, dying and lying still, its wings fully open, like a human face, with eyes and a nose.
After only one night, we found many things that we could not see in the city. At the moment, we thought that if we continued to walk in the ravine deep in the Qinling Mountains, we didn't know how many magical treasures we could find! The secret realm of Qinling Mountains is indeed worth a closer visit.

There are many magical ancient trees in Liuba, such as the north entrance of Gaojiang Road, the "most beautiful rural road in Qinling", there is a 4,000-year-old ancient ginkgo tree, which may be seen by many friends. On our trip to Liuba, we specifically went to "visit" a thousand-year-old yew tree.
Yew is a national rare and protected tree species in China, and is also recognized as an endangered natural rare anti-cancer plant in the world. Under natural conditions, yew grows slowly and has poor regeneration ability, so it can grow for a thousand years, which is even rarer.
This thousand-year-old yew tree is eleven kilometers away in liuba Wangjiagou, hidden behind an old house, and we also followed local friends to see its traces.
For tourists, it takes some effort to see it.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="24" > "mysterious" wood</h1>
Baimiao Wangou is located in Dundunshi Village, Huoyaodian Town, Liuba County, if there is no guide to lead the way, I believe it is difficult for ordinary people to find this place. We are here to visit one of the largest "lollipop honey" production bases in Liuba County.
Lollipop honey is a specialty of Qinling Mountains, known for its high purity and excellent quality. The biggest difference with ordinary honey is that lollipop honey does not distinguish between locust nectar and rapeseed nectar, but "hundred nectar". Every year, when the Qinling Mountains are full of flowers, the bees will pick what flowers they have. There is a treasure trove of natural plants in Qinling, and there is no good honey!
The name "Lollipop Honey" is very vivid, because unlike ordinary square beehives, lollipop honey bees are kept in a piece of wood. In fact, when we were walking around the dam, we found that everywhere in the dam we could see a section of equal length of wood, under the wall roots, on the shelves, on the treetops...
These equidistant-length pieces of wood turned out to be "stick barrels", which were actually the "home" of bees. So you see these mysterious pieces of wood in the Qinling Mountains, don't open it casually!
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="31" > "bowl" of large shiitake mushrooms</h1>
Liuba is a mountainous county with the custom of "picking up mushrooms", and has a long history of eating shiitake mushrooms. We encountered "wild" shiitake mushrooms. The villagers picked it and dried it aside, picked it up and looked at it, some even bigger than the bowl. Not only are mosquitoes in the mountains big, but shiitake mushrooms are also very big!

Qinling is full of treasures, in addition to the mulberry leaf tea mentioned earlier, in fact, as long as you are willing, there are too many things you can eat! The most impressive thing was that we played in liuba shuibai ditch, and there were chestnut trees all along the way. The chestnut ball with the thorns fell to the ground and cracked, and the chestnuts scattered to the ground. We picked it up as we walked, and in a moment we picked up a big pocket. Came back to the homestay in the evening and made a plate of sugar fried chestnuts which was really super sweet.
In the depths of the Qinling Mountains, there are countless magical objects hidden. After spending a few days in Liuba, I crossed the mountains with the locals and saw many animals and plants that are rare in the city. This trip to the Qinling Mountains still feels fun and interesting.
