A brief introduction to the german wolfhound's gait

author:Who's the Buddha

Hello, I am @ Who family Buddha, a German wolfhound enthusiast, today I have time to talk about the gait of the German wolfhound.

The walk of the wolfhound, that is, the basic performance of the wolfhound's dynamics, the general dog friends, for the walk of the wolfhound, will see it as very complex, all from a variety of professional books and periodicals described are also quite difficult to understand, in fact, it is quite simple to understand, its main points are nothing more than:

(1) Traber: is the wolfhound with natural ability, with little force and can push a large and powerful pace; generally speaking, if the wolfhound is a small and fast stride (Graph), this will make it waste a lot of effort, and can not last, which is not good; because the working dog we require is a step that must have a persistent step, and this step capacity is a fast step.

(2) Correct speed step type: the tread of its limbs must be in a straight line, which is very important, the normal wolfhound in the static, its limbs pedal is with its body width (that is, the width of the chest and the width of the hip joint) the vertical line of the four points in a four-pointed square, but when it operates in a fast step type, the limbs pedal must be presented in a straight line, so that it as a whole can maintain the best stable and balanced state (as shown below).

(3) The step of the wolfhound is based on the back and waist as the main body, if the back and waist can not be taken as the main body, the step of the front and rear drive will be chaotic, that is to say, the powerful back and waist with the correct front and back angles and the tightness of the joints can play the wolfhound's step to the fullest, which is the so-called low and wide step.

(4) Straight forward with the examiner on his back and straight and sideways speed steps towards the examiner; the straight forward of the examiner with his back to the examiner is mainly to observe whether the hind limbs show "X", that is, whether the flying joint part is stable and the hip joint is not different (this argument can only be observed, and the correct grade must be identified by X-ray and qualified appraiser); turning back to the examiner is to observe the appearance of the front chest carcass, the tightness of the elbow joint and whether the anterior system and pedal are correct; the side speed step is to observe whether the forelimb is comfortable. Whether the hind limbs are pushed back with a large and powerful sense of stride, and whether the intersection of the front and back limbs in the middle body is correct, these three observation forms are the constant positions to determine whether the step is correct.

(5) Abnormal step capacity side to step: When the German wolfhound is running slowly, most of them maintain a side-to-step approach, but if the speed is accelerated, the speed step capacity also produces a side-to-step capacity, which is a different step capacity, and the reasons for this abnormal step capacity are as follows:

(1) Weakness in the back and lower back;

(2) The angle of the front and back body is not enough;

(3) The body is too long or too short;

(4) Dogs that are too obese or too heavy in weight;

(5) Larger than emaciated dogs;

(6) Dogs with too deep a posterior torso angle.

Remedy:

(1) Since as mentioned earlier, the wolfhound's walk is based on the back, so it is absolutely necessary to enrich and strengthen the back. As for how to enrich and strengthen the back and waist, in addition to normal nutrition, exercise, etc., the twisting of the wolfhound's body (that is, instantaneous turning) during normal exercise is an indispensable course.

(2) Adjustment of step capacity: with a 2m leash, with a radius length of 1m to 1.5m at the center of the circle, guide the dog to run around the human body, force the adjustment of the dog to no side to step, and then gradually increase the radius (that is, gradually lengthen the leash), so continuous tuning, can improve the effect of side to step.
