Recently, according to the news released by the General Administration of Customs, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of China and the "Work Plan of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture of the United States of America on the Control Measures for the Export of Fragrant Pears from Korla and Aksu Regions of China to the United States and its Jurisdictional Territories", chinese Xinjiang fragrant pears that meet the relevant requirements are allowed to be exported to the United States.

Under the epidemic, fragrant pears in Korla and Aksu regions in Xinjiang are expected to be exported to the United States again

It is reported that since the first export of Korla pears to the United States in September 2006, it has been popular in the US market, with a price of up to $15 per box, and the export volume of 1580 tons in only 3 months from the end of September to the beginning of December.

According to the staff of the Xinjiang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the export of fragrant pears to the United States has at least 4 "passes": the first is strict appearance selection. Fragrant pears that are not large enough, irregular in shape, and have scars on the peel must be eliminated in the first round; secondly, the pears that meet the requirements of the fruit enter the second process: the floating dust on the surface and the eggs and spider webs of the pears are blown away by the workers with high-pressure air guns; then, the pears are sent into the cleaning line for manual cleaning; finally, the pears that are punctured during the cleaning process are eliminated, and the qualified ones are packed into storage with special packaging paper.

It is understood that under the epidemic, fragrant pears are once again exported to the United States for quarantine pests that need attention, including turtle striped borer and fragrant pear spotted borer. Before the export of fragrant pears, 150 fruits will be randomly selected from each batch of goods for inspection one by one to check whether there are harmful organisms or pests, and all harmful fruits or suspected harmful fruits need to be examined by fruit cutting, and the number of pears per batch is not less than 30 to check whether they are infected with borer pests.

It is reported that only fragrant pears that have passed the inspection and meet the export conditions can be exported and a plant quarantine certificate will be issued. Any live quarantine pests or misrepresentation of the cargo documents found during the customs clearance process at the U.S. port of entry may result in a delay in customs clearance, and if not resolved, the shipment will be refused entry.
