On Saturday, Chelsea beat 10-man Norwich City 7-0 at Stamford Bridge to secure their top spot in the Premier League with Mason Mount's hat-trick.

The home side does not have main strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, both of whom were injured in Wednesday's Champions League win over Malmö.

Midfielder Mount hit the ball into the bottom left corner from the edge of the penalty area from 18 yards away in the 8th minute, scoring first as the visiting team struggled to keep up with league leaders.

Chelsea's advantage doubled a few minutes later, with winger Callum Hudson Oney (his third start of the season) beating Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul. Defender Rees James scored another third goal just before half-time, slamming down the right before scoring from six yards away.

Thomas Tutchell's side continued to dominate in the second half, with defender Ben Zilwell taking advantage of that advantage to score for the third consecutive premier league game with a left-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area 18 yards away.

Norwich's days got worse when defender Max Allens scored a oolong goal in the 62nd minute before Ben Gibson was sent off.

Chelsea scored a penalty in the 82nd minute but was saved by Krul. However, the penalty was heavily awarded after the Dutch goalkeeper violated the line.

Mount made no mistakes on his second attempt, and his strength surpassed that of Krul. In extra time, his third goal went straight into Norwich's goal.

"Before the game, I put pressure on myself to score goals and then three more people came in the same game. This is obviously an important moment for me. I'm going to remember that for a long time," Mount said after the game.

"I always found a place to score, but I just didn't throw the ball into the net. I think the last one may be offside. Today was my luck, but it was also the team's luck. We've said before to start from scratch – and we did the same today.

'For me, scoring three goals at home at Stamford Bridge was an important moment.
