During her 32-year life, the star has made a huge impact on the world of film, television and music. The star, who was born in Atlanta and raised in Los Angeles (raised by the New Jersey Edison Company), began acting from an early age. She earned her first major role at the age of 13, appearing in the short-lived sitcom Drexel's Class. Since then, she has appeared in several television series, including Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Flowers, Fraser, Boys Meet the World, and Sister, Sister. In 1995, she would experience her breakthrough by playing Tai in Infernal Affairs. Her career has continued to speed up, starring in several critically acclaimed films. As a voice actress, she is also accomplished, the most notable being Luan in "King of the Mountains".

Sadly, Brittany died of pneumonia in 2009, anemia and iron deficiency that left her dead. Her then-husband, screenwriter Simon Moncek, died of similar causes five months after Brittany's death. Brittany Murphy married Simon Monjack in 2007. The two have allegedly known each other since they were 17 years old.
