Mbappe spoke to the Team newspaper in the early hours of Oct. 5. In the interview, he admitted that it was time to end his adventure in Paris, and if he left, he would only join Real Madrid; he never thought that Messi would join Paris, and if Messi "walked" on the field, he would be happy to run for him.

Here are the highlights of the interview!

This summer's signings have not translated into outstanding performances, especially among the MNM trio

First of all, you have to emphasize that this is an amazing transfer window and we filled in many gaps. We have a very competitive team ready to compete for every trophy. During the August-September period, we had some players return late and some players were injured. A lot of small issues have left us in good shape at the right time and against Manchester City it was the first time we've played at a decent level and even if we're not at our best yet, beating Manchester City will be a catalyst for the season. (This interview comes before the defeat to Wren.) )

When you saw this team, did you feel that excitement too?

Of course we were all excited, we were just talking about Messi, but we brought in some great players. I've always said I want to play with great players, so this year I did. Now, we're going to bring the ingredients to the table, put a little water in the wine to help this team, and use the collective strength to win the trophy.

What does it mean to put a little water in the wine

When you're a great player, you have to make concessions. You're not the only important player, it's no longer you and everybody else, it's all together because we just want to win.

Does that mean it's easier for Messi not to be on the floor for a game like Manchester City?

When your team has Messi, you know he has to do a little less so that there's still some fuel in the tank and it's easier to score. So if you have to defend back, that's what you're going to do. It's not a problem, we have an established strategy. I'm happy to run while Messi is walking, it's not a problem, it's Messi (laughs).

Against Montpellier, you complained that Neymar wouldn't give you a pass

Yes, when he [Geye] said about Neymar, I said 'this tramp doesn't give me a pass'. These are things that happen all the time in football circles, it's just that there's no need to leave something behind. Given the fermentation of this matter, I have already communicated with Neymar. We've had a lot of these conversations and will continue because we want to win the game, but there shouldn't be any resentment. We have no grudges because I respect everyone. I admire Neymar, but that's it, I'm not happy with the pass. If one day it happens to me and I don't have a pass, he will be unhappy too, but it's not a problem.

How it feels to play with Messi

I never thought he would join Paris. He's one of the few players I think I'll never play with because I don't think he'll ever leave Barca. I enjoyed every moment with Messi and will never forget that it was a privilege. He's a guy who loves football, he talks to everyone and he tries to fit in his own way. Even though he's a little shy, he's not shy on the field (laughs).

Have you ever felt that way with other players?

And Neymar has some. When he came to the team, he was really remarkable. But Messi is a different kind of person, apart from Barca, the club shirt he wears is Paris, which is really surprising and we have to realize that this is an extraordinary thing.

Your summer experience is legendary, you tell Paris you don't want to renew your contract, why?

In the beginning, I asked for some time to think. Before the European Cup, I told the club that I did not want to renew my contract, and after the European Championship, I said I wanted to leave the club. My idea is to get everyone moving forward hand in hand, including selling my club, bringing in my club and myself. We made the best deal possible and I also wanted to find a replacement when I left the club. Everyone will be happy and I can continue to live happily.

Have you ever thought about clashing with the club? Other players have done that

No, because that would be very ungrateful. If a club welcomed me when I was 18 and gave me a lot of stuff in 4 years, it wouldn't be a way to be grateful to the club. I always want to play and show everyone that I'm a top player, nothing can upset me, even if it's a failed transfer, I can make a change on the last day.

Messi's arrival has made you think about staying

No, because I don't make decisions on a sudden impulse. I've made a decision and I've thought about it for a long time.

Did the boos in the Parc des Princes hurt you?

I look at this from a different perspective. I told myself that I would boo in their position too. We heard a lot of things and I didn't say to myself 'I did so much and they booed me'. I see this as a sign of love, they don't want me to leave, which means I'm important and I'm very clear about the situation.

When you say leave, are you talking about Real Madrid?

Of course! Real Madrid offered an offer. People say I declined six or seven offers for renewal, which is fake! People say I don't talk to Leonardo, even though it's President Nasser who wants to take over everything. When I was told to communicate with the Chair, I would not say no. People say I'm going to mess around in the locker room – and again, it's impossible.

Why are you leaving Paris

I think my adventure in Paris is over and I want to explore something else. I've been in Ligue 1 for six or seven years and I've given everything I want to give to Paris. I think I'm doing a great job, and I think it's an amazing thing. Everyone is free to draw the conclusions they want, but my assessment is: leaving is the logical next step.

Do you want to leave Paris because of Real Madrid or some other possible place?

No, I value Paris. If I leave Paris this summer, I can only join Real Madrid.

Five weeks after the transfer window ends, how are you now

I stayed, and I was so happy. At any point in the season, you won't see behavior like "You didn't let me go, I'll be lazy." I love football so much, I have a lot of respect for Paris, I respect myself so much that I don't play a game. Regarding my situation, since I said I wanted to leave the team, we have not discussed the renewal issue for a month and a half, two months.

How do you stay in Paris?

I'm far from that idea because I want to leave this summer. I don't act like a hypocrite and say "Oh, I don't know". My goal this summer is clear, to leave and have the club find my replacement. Now my future is not my first goal. I've wasted a lot of energy this summer, and it's exhausting.

How do you analyze defeats at the European Championship

You can do any analysis you want to do, and one thing we all agree with – we messed up. When you are eliminated in the quarterfinals when you are considered inferior to your opponent, when you win 3-1 in the 80 minutes...

Is missing a penalty a low point in your career?

yes...... Although I also lost the Champions League final. It was a quarter-final, but that was my lowest point. After a series of events, it's hard to start over right away.

How do you personally feel about people being disappointed with your European Championship performance?

Contrary to what people expect from you, the story of Giroud three years ago probably wouldn't have happened, and three years ago I wouldn't have been asked to win the World Cup. But now I know everything about sports: if you don't do it well, you have to accept what people say, you just have to look at yourself in the mirror: I didn't do what I was supposed to do, I'm going to accept it because it's good for me.

Love: Bless Mbappe!
