Space Rescue is a Russian film based on real events from the rescue of the Salyut 7 space station in the former Soviet Union in 1985.
At the beginning of the film, the famous Salyut 7 Archangel incident occurs, where astronaut Vladimir is attracted by an unknown blue light source, and the pilot who is in danger of being in danger is banned from flying.

In 1985, the Salyut VII space station lost contact with the flight control center and flew rapidly in space. As a result, relations between the Soviet Union and the United States during the Cold War were extremely tense. The overload of public pressure led the Soviet leadership to make the decision to blow up Salyut VII. At the strong request of the head of the Space Agency, Valery, there was an opportunity to send astronauts to turn the situation around.

Due to the high speed of rotation of the space station and the continuous advancement, the docking of the spacecraft with the space station is regarded as an impossible task. Many experienced astronauts gave up after trying flight simulators, and in desperation, Valery approached Vladimir and hoped he would return to space.

Two members of the Soyuz 13 spacecraft, astronaut Vladimir and senior engineer Victor, were ordered to board space urgently to prepare for docking with the Salyut VII space station. With his rich driving experience, after the failure of the first docking, Vladimir successfully docked with the space station for the second time.

When the two spacecraft members entered the space station, they were surprised to find that the entire interior of the space station was covered with snow and the temperature was extremely low. Relying on manually twisting a small solar panel, they raised the temperature in the room. At the same time, the snow turned into water, filling the entire space station. Although the snow had melted, the space station was still unpowered and still very cold.

Vladimir decided to go outside the space station to investigate the situation, and after his inspection, he found that the meteorite had damaged the active solar receiver outside the cabin and could not be repaired under the existing conditions. At the same time, due to the residual water droplets from the space station entering the spacecraft, causing the inside to catch fire, fortunately Victor was only burned and not life-threatening.

In the context of extreme international tension, the Soviet authorities decided to blow up the spacecraft, and before the ship could blow up, one of the members of the spacecraft was able to escape. However, Victor did not want to be the one who left alone, and he encouraged Vladimir to smash the receiver's housing with a hammer so that the main solar panels could function. After a very short period of thought, the two lone heroes began to pound the receiver shell together outside the space station cabin.

Just when the two were in a daze, the receiver shell was knocked off, and the main power of the space station was restored. At the same time, they also saw the spacecraft from the United States and watched them from their side. The last two people in the story are successfully rescued, and just when it is time to celebrate, Victor looks into the distance, and the unknown blue light source reappears.

This form of expression that echoes successively highlights the mystery and wonder of the universe. It is said that in order to restore the real scene, the crew of the film also borrowed spacesuits from the astronauts of that year. And all performances in the case of weightlessness outside the cabin are performed in strict accordance with science and actual situations. Russia embodies a rigorous and serious attitude in this film. The special effects have been done very well, no less than American blockbusters, and are worth recommending.
