On the morning of May 13, the 2021 Hubei Province "5.18 International Museum Day" home city event and the provincial museum high-quality development training class were held in Yichang Museum.
18 May 2021 is the 45th International Museum Day, with the theme "The Future of Museums: Restoration and Reinvention". Under the background of normalized epidemic prevention and control around the world, how museums should respond to multiple challenges in the future, timely adjust and improve their functional positioning, and actively explore new directions, new models and new programs for the development of museums.
At the opening ceremony, the results of the selection of the fifth provincial museum's six exhibitions and exhibition promotion activities, the results of the promotion of excellent research routes and courses in Hubei Province, and the results of the selection of the "Red Docent" competition in Hubei Province were announced. The Yangtze River Civilization Museum (Wuhan Natural History Museum), Xinhai Revolution Museum, Jianghanguan Museum, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Museum, Wuhan Museum and Yichang Museum won the "Six Exhibition Excellence Awards". Hubei Provincial Museum, Wuhan Museum, Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences, Xiangyang Museum, Jingzhou Museum, Ethnology Museum of South Central University for Nationalities, Wuhan Zhongshan Ship Museum, Xinhai Revolution Museum, Xiaogan City Museum, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Museum won the "2021 Hubei Provincial Cultural and Bo System Excellent Research Routes and Curriculum Promotion Activities" and "Top Ten Research Courses". Wei Lai, Qi Yue, Wang Zhilin, Fu Guanyi, Zhang Rui, Zeng Ting, Du Wenqing, Li Dan, Wang Xiao and Wan Shan won the first prize of the "2021 Hubei Provincial Cultural and Expo System Red Story Training Class and Hubei Selection Competition to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China".
On the day of the event, Liu Shuguang, former deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and chairman of the China Museum Association, GuanXin of the Museum and Social Relics Department of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hubei Province, and Ye Jingtao, deputy secretary general of the Yichang Municipal Government, awarded medals to 18 newly promoted and graded museums. Among them, there are 4 museums in Hubei that have been rated as national first-class museums, namely the Wuhan Revolution Museum, the Yangtze River Civilization Museum, the Yichang Museum, and the Suizhou City Museum.
During this event, Yichang Museum launched two special exhibitions as the main venue: "Chance Encounter - Quanzhou Yichang Puppet Show Cultural Relics Exhibition" and "Provincial Cultural and Creative Products Exhibition", so that the audience can appreciate the charm of culture.
This year, in addition to holding training courses on the high-quality development of the provincial museums, launching special exhibitions and carrying out special social education activities in the host city of Yichang, the provincial museums will hold more than 50 temporary exhibitions, carry out 300 social education activities, and carry out red sitcom performances, network synchronous live broadcasts and other related series of activities around the publicity theme, narrowing the distance between the museum and the public and stimulating the public's awareness of participation.
