In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, co-sponsored by the Institute of Party History of the Shanxi Provincial CPC Committee, the Political Work Bureau of the Shanxi Provincial Military Region, and the Shanxi Radio and Television Media Group, and undertaken by the Shanxi Radio and Television News, the editor compiled and sorted out the stories of their own revolution dictated by 100 party members and veterans who had undergone the baptism of the revolutionary beacon years, recalled the red glory days of that year, and lamented today's peaceful and happy life.

The hundred-year journey is magnificent, and the original intention of the hundred-year journey has lasted for a long time. These "stories of the original heart" are the simple memories of party members and veterans of their own road to joining the army, one true story after another, full of their firm belief in loyalty to the party and their unity with the party, the spiritual outlook of Hao Shou Dan's heart and the old age and strength, and the noble feelings of always maintaining the original heart and keeping the mission in mind, which is not only a tangible positive energy, but also a living value. The stories are all dictated by the parties, and the characters and events are full of flesh and blood, so that readers can get emotional resonance from the story, produce action consciousness, let the red gene and the revolutionary flame be passed on from generation to generation, continue the spiritual blood of the communists, and take the long march road of the new era.

From the children's regiment to the war of resistance

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, I joined the children's group in our village, and most of the members of the children's group at that time were thirteen or fourteen-year-old children, and the leader was Li Feng, who taught us to sing and play games.

When the Japanese heard that there was an Eighth Route Army in our village, they went into the village to search, and they gathered the members of our children's regiment to the village school to inquire, and we had already discussed it in private, and no matter what the Japanese asked, we said we didn't know. So the Japanese were very angry, took up bayonets to scare us, and killed us all without knowing, but we were still not afraid of danger, not humble, they gave us sugar, we were still determined, no one ate. This is the first test that our children's group has experienced since its establishment.

The village school often came to some Eighth Route Army studying in the rear, and our children's regiment was responsible for cover. The younger of the Eighth Route Army sat with us to study, and the older ones became teachers for us.

Li Feng took some study materials for us from the rear, and when the Japanese came, we quickly hid these materials, took out the Four Books and Five Classics and other books, and everyone began to read "At the beginning of man, nature is good...", so we fought with the Japanese. The Children's Regiment was also responsible for sending intelligence and fighting wits and courage with the enemy; the Eighth Route Army came and said that it did not come, did not come, and was also mixed with some locust and other disaster reports.

In 1942, the most difficult period of the revolution, Li Feng talked to me and asked me to participate in covert work, to fight against the Japanese on the other hand, to propagate the anti-Japanese resistance, and to accumulate energy for the War of Resistance.

On September 1, 1945, I joined the Communist Party of China, and Zhang Xikang and Zheng Kemin were my introducers to the party. After joining the party, I went to the enemy's war zone to fight guerrillas. At that time, the conditions for fighting guerrilla warfare were very difficult, I did not sleep a sound night, often went out to lay mines, and had to endure hunger. During the Liberation War, once during the Dragon Boat Festival, we didn't even have food, only some grain. We crushed the grain into noodles, sifted them, made into a cereal batter, and ate them in salted brine. During the Spring Festival, everyone else ate dumplings, and we didn't either, and later, after the county learned of the situation, each of us comrades who fought guerrilla warfare gave us a pound of white noodles, and there were no vegetables, so everyone simply fried the white noodles and pulled them into their mouths.

After the liberation of Qingyuan County, the county magistrate entrusted me with a note and asked me to hurry into the city. At that time, I was eating, put down the bowl and immediately set off, walked about 40 miles to Qingyuan County, the county magistrate saw me, showed me the order of the superior, and asked me to be his secretary. At that time, our county town was very close to Taiyuan, about 30 miles away, and the day after the liberation of Taiyuan, I rode my bicycle to Taiyuan, and the workers on the street sang loudly "We workers have strength...", as well as twisting songs, stilts, singing and laughing, a lively scene.
