Earlier shared an article by General Liu Bingyan recalling the Japanese culling squadron Izu Fumio, recording the story of the 10th Division of Jizhong completely annihilating the Japanese culling squadron, and now there is a detailed introduction of this battle by witnesses at that time, I hope you can like it.

About author:Jin Bo (formerly known as Dong Zhixue), male, born in 1924. At the time of the "May Day" anti-"sweeping" campaign, he was an officer of the Organization Section of the Tenth Military Sub-district of the Jizhong Military Region. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as the director of the political department of the division, the political commissar of the division, the political commissar of the school affairs department of the Shijiazhuang Senior Infantry School, and the deputy political commissar of the theoretical research department. He retired in 1984.

In 1942, although 60 years had passed since the Japanese army's "May Day" sweep of the anti-Japanese base areas in the Jizhong Plain (the article was written in 2002, Wei Jiangtao), the mighty, tragic, earth-shattering, singable and weeping scenes displayed by the military and people in Hebei during the "May Day" anti-"sweep" were deeply imprinted in my mind.

Because the strategic position of the anti-Japanese base area in the Jizhong Plain is very important, it directly threatens the two main communication routes of ping, tianjin, and bao, the enemy's base camp and Pinghan and Jinpu, and the enemy has long hated it to the bone, like a fish in the throat, and must be eliminated.

Several "sweeps" have been carried out since 1938, but none of them have worked. Therefore, on June 1, 1941, the Japanese army first poisoned the Jizhong Tenth Sub-district in the north of daqing Hebei, which was in a relatively difficult situation, and mobilized 15,000 troops in the triangle area of the Tenth Sub-district, which was only 30 kilometers north and south and 25 kilometers from east to west, and used extremely brutal and vicious means such as "iron wall encirclement", "fish scale net", "combing and pulling net", and "fine fragmentation", to carry out a large-scale "sweep" of the Tenth Sub-district of Jizhong. After a bitter battle, the troops of the Second Sub-district had to temporarily retreat to the hinterland of the anti-Japanese base area in central Hebei, where they were in the areas of Shen (County), Wu (Qiang), Rao (Yang), and An (Ping). In this way, the base area of the Tenth Division was temporarily occupied by the enemy.

The Japanese army believed that his "rehearsal" was successful, so on May 1, 1942, it gathered 3 divisions and 4 brigades of the Japanese army, plus the superior strength of more than 50,000 local puppet troops, and under the personal command of the Japanese commander of the North China garrison, Okamura Ningji, carried out an unprecedented and tragic "sweep" of the anti-Japanese base area in the Jizhong Plain.

The troops of the Tenth Division, having experienced a major "sweep" by the Japanese army, this is the second time, and all kinds of preparations are sufficient. When the Japanese army rushed from all directions on May 1, Commander Zhou Biao, Political Commissar Shuai Rong, Chief of Staff Liu Bingyan, and Political Department Director Fang Guonan did not immediately lead the troops to break through, but calmly observed the enemy situation, analyzed the dynamics, and looked for gaps in the village of Zhanggang in Raoyang.

On 3 May, when the enemy was only 5 kilometers away from us, it was only then that, under the leadership of the three companies of the Twenty-ninth Regiment, they unknowingly broke through in the gap of 1.5 kilometers between the two villages occupied by the enemy in the darkness of the night. During the breakout, the troops put on bayonets, clutched grenades, and were ready to fight.

That night, we acted quickly and our morale was high, but our mood was very heavy, because at this time, the endless wheat fields in jizhong were pulling out the knots and spitting out ears, smelling the fragrance of wheat seedlings from time to time, and seeing that the wheat in our hands was about to be robbed by the enemy again, the "three lights policy" of the Japanese army did not know how many families would be destroyed and their wives and children scattered, and the fathers and fellow villagers in Jizhong who raised us would suffer a massacre by the Japanese army again, and the mood would not be heavy!

A bumper harvest in the wheat fields is in sight

After an overnight march, it reached the areas of Ren (丘), He (間), and Da (Cheng) around the Northern and Southern Wei and Wenxiang. The next day was May Fourth Youth Day, and we had a traditional habit of commemorating it. I am a youth officer in the political department of the sub-district, and I was responsible for holding a small "May Fourth" Youth Day commemoration meeting in the afternoon. In order to conceal, there will be no singing, no slogans, only bomb throwing, assassination, political tests, and the winners will be awarded. Liu Bingyan, chief of staff of the sub-district, and Fang Guonan, director of the Political Department, were also invited to attend the meeting and make speeches.

Liu Bingyan was a student at Peking University before joining the army, joined the "Left League" when he was studying, and was a young intellectual-type military cadre, and we all appreciated him. His speech was very encouraging, and I still remember the central content of his speech. After analyzing the different characteristics of the enemy's "May Day" great "sweeping" and the previous "sweeping", he said: "In order to achieve victory in the anti-'sweeping,' we must read a good scripture, that is, properly handle the relationship between "fighting" and "walking" in the anti-"sweeping." We must not be afraid to walk; the purpose of 'walking' is to avoid the enemy's sharp edges, to create illusions, to benefit the enemy's gaps, to look for fighter planes, not to passively evade, but to create conditions for 'fighting'; "fighting" is to destroy the enemy and save oneself; to fight must be sure, not to act arbitrarily; only by walking well can we fight well, and this is the anti-'sweeping' trial and sizing up of the situation. ”

After listening to his speech, the morale of the troops was high and their confidence was doubled. At that time, someone made up a slip of the tongue: "Follow Zhou (Biao) Shuai (Rong) Liu (Bingyan), anti-'sweeping' do not worry." ”

Commander Zhou Biao and Chief of Staff Liu Bingyan commanded the battle in the Tenth Sub-district of Hebei province of daqing from the early stage of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and had a lot of experience in guerrilla warfare. At that time, it was learned from the reports of the superiors that the Japanese army organized three main "encirclement" circles: one was centered on Shenxian County, Raoyang, and Suning; one was Lixian County, Gaoyang, Anping, and Anguo; and the third was Renqiu, Hejian, and Dacheng. The enemy's three divisions aimed at the main forces of the 7th, 8th, and 9th military divisions in Jizhong, and the other two brigades and regiments faced the 6th Military Sub-district north of Cangshi Road.

May Day anti-sweep

The guiding ideology of the head of the division against "sweeping" is very clear, that is, to avoid the enemy's sharp edge, to skillfully maneuver around, and absolutely not to enter the enemy's "encirclement" circle; it is really impossible to hide away, and it is better to enter the enemy-occupied area than to handle the situation in the enemy's "encirclement" circle. In the complicated anti-"sweeping" situation, the enemy situation changes rapidly, and in order to grasp the initiative, the commander must carefully plan and realize it with exquisite command art.

According to the analysis of the chiefs, the enemy is "surrounded by iron walls," but not a monolith; the enemy "combs and pulls the net," and there are always gaps to take advantage of; the enemy attacks in a combination of attacks, with a speed of speed and slowness, and the way of advancing is wave-like, and between the two waves is a usable gap. Therefore, in the more than one month before the anti-"sweep," except for two jumps to the enemy-occupied area east of the Ziya River, we basically followed the enemy's ass and turned around, jumping around on the enemy's two wings and backs, and never being "encircled" by the enemy.

One day in late May 1942, when it was drizzling and drizzling, at night we jumped out of the enemy's "encirclement" circle from the big city and moved to Haozhuang and Baizhuang, south of Yanzhou, north of Renqiu.

The scouts reported that the Japanese army had "swept up" here for a day during the day, and had just withdrawn after dark, and the fire was not burned out of the house. As soon as the enemy "swept" away, we stayed, and this was the second time. Once when the enemy left the south entrance, we entered the north entrance, and the enemy did not notice. We have the masses as a cover, and we can hide in the anti-"sweep."

After entering Haozhuang, what we saw was the tragic scene after being looted by the Japanese army, the ruins and broken walls, more than 20 houses were burned, the corpses of our soldiers, the corpses of the enemy, and the bodies of the slain compatriots were everywhere, and the streets were filled with the smell of burnt paste and blood.

Devils enter the village to burn and loot

In Haozhuang, the first thing we did was put out the fire, then clean the battlefield and bury the corpses. An Eighth Route Army soldier who had died in the trenches, with 6 grenade ropes in his hand, a bent bayonet, and 4 enemy corpses lay beside him. The indomitable heroism of our warriors and the devotion to death is admirable.

After cleaning up the battlefield, it was already dawn, and we went to a hometown to rest. No one answered the shouting uncle and the big lady, and the courtyard was as silent as death. Entering the house, there was the body of a young woman lying on the kang, her head tilted on the windowsill, her clothes stripped by the enemy, her throat cut open, her breasts gouged out, her lower abdomen to her chest was cut open by the enemy with a bayonet, and there was a baby in her belly, and blood flowed from the kang to the ground. Comrades, seeing the brutal beastly behavior of the Japanese army, gritted their teeth and were filled with righteous indignation! While cleaning up the body, she saw that under her body was a pair of scissors that stabbed the enemy with blood, which was the most brutal method the enemy used to kill her after a deadly fight with the Japanese robbers. Her unyielding heroic deeds for the dignity of the nation still make me awe-inspired when I think about it.

At this moment, the voice of "mother" came from the courtyard, and it was the landlord's uncle and mother who fled back with his 3-year-old grandson. To escape the fighting, they spent a day and a night in a wheat field. Entering the house to see the tragic situation of the tragic murder of the daughter-in-law, the eldest bride suddenly fainted, the child held his mother and cried, and the uncle stared at two eyes, the anger of hatred burned in his chest, the top of the wall, the fist desperately pounded the wall, shouted loudly: "Japanese devil, I × your grandmother, too vicious, two lives!" It has ruined my family, a deep hatred in the blood sea, a deep hatred in the blood sea!" He was complaining to righteous people about the atrocities of the Japanese army! With a sad and indignant mood, I took Uncle Da's hand and said, "This vendetta is not the enmity of your family, but also our enmity, the enmity of all the Chinese people, and this enmity must be repaid.

At this time, a village cadre walked into the village and said to the uncle: "Chief Hao, the comrades have not yet eaten, we must dig out the hidden grain and cook for the comrades to eat." "It has always been learned that the uncle is the secretary of the branch and the head of the village, the son is the leader of the militia guerrilla group, and after the fierce battle, he withdrew with the troops, and the daughter-in-law did not run out because she was pregnant and had difficulty moving.

After listening to the words of the people who came, the village chief did not say a word, and went to collect food for the troops with full of anger. Decades later, the image of this heroic woman is still imprinted in my mind. Such a heroic woman is not only one in the anti-Japanese base area in Jizhong!

This article is selected from "Blood In The Blood" Jin Bo's "Battle between Good and Evil in the Side Shop",

The numerous crimes committed by the Japanese aggressors in jizhong and the tragic and magnificent scenes of the anti-Japanese soldiers and people fighting the enemy in the smoke of artillery fire and gunfire in jizhong will never be forgotten. It has been more than seventy years since the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, but the Japanese have not really reflected on their crimes, and the right-wing forces continue to rise. How can we forget history?

Someone once said: There is not a single hill in the Jizhong Plain, but the masses of the people are a majestic mountain. This is the most apt statement. The deeds of the heroes and martyrs of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in Hebei are innumerable, and they can be recorded in the annals of history to a very small part. With the passage of time, people who have experienced that era are rarely alive, and many have become legends, stories, and untestable. Even if they are included in the book, they are only disseminated in a limited circle, and it is a pity that the heroes' deeds have not been revealed.

Recently, I have taken the time to sort out the articles I have read that reflect the deeds of the characters of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in Hebei and share them with the princes, so as to commemorate the martyrs and enlighten future generations. Welcome to follow
