On October 19th, the new apple variety Ruixiang red tasting observation meeting was held in Baishui County, which is another achievement of the Whitewater Apple Experimental Station of Northwest A&F University after the two new varieties of Ruiyang and Ruixue apples, and the holding of the event marked the official entry of the new apple variety of "Ruixianghong" into the promotion stage.

In 2005, with the strong support of governments at all levels, Northwest A&F University based on the actual situation of Shaanxi agricultural industry, chose apples, which is a characteristic industry with advantages, and took the lead in creating China's first apple professional test station in Baishui County, the core apple-producing area of Weibei, opening a new model of school-county alliance, relying on scientific and technological advantages and talent resources to help the development of agricultural and rural industries.

In 2015, relying on the leading industrial advantages of whitewater apples, after more than ten years of efforts, after many improvements and upgrades, Professor Zhao Zhengyang of the College of Horticulture of Northwest A&F University presided over the breeding, and the two new varieties of apples independently developed by the northwest a&F University - "Ruiyang" and "Ruixue" passed the national examination and approval, becoming the first apple varieties in Shaanxi Province to pass the national examination and have independent property rights, on this basis, Zhao Zhengyang's team also selected and bred a new variety of the "Rui" series - Rui Xianghong in 2019.

Ruixiang red is a new variety of high-quality late-ripening red apples, with high fruit shape, neat size, beautiful appearance, smooth fruit surface, fine and crisp flesh, sweet and sour taste, full juice, rich aroma, ripening in late October every year, and the fruit is extremely resistant to storage. At present, white water has planted more than 20,000 mu of new varieties of "Rui" series of apples, with a fruit hanging area of 8,000 mu and an output value of 160 million yuan.
