Recently, the story of the revolutionary pioneer Peng Pan leading the Hailufeng peasant movement was put on the stage.

The national opera "The Red Stream" created and arranged by the Southern Song and Dance Troupe is divided into two acts and six performances and a prelude to the end. The screenwriter extracts the opera story from the real historical materials, focuses on the details of Peng Pan's daily life, expresses the emotions and feelings in the hero's growth process, and writes a real and vivid communist.

Starting from the rules of opera creation, the screenwriter set up different voice parts for the characters of Peng Pan, Mrs. Peng Suping, Peng Mu Zhou Feng, and Grandfather Peng Fan. The lyrics are basically written according to the unique chinese rhythm of four tones, eight tones and thirteen ruts, and the character identity is written.

The music of the play is full of national characteristics, and the whole passage adopts the Chinese style of rotation rhythm, mode of tonality, and harmonic texture. The unique fishing songs and folk songs in the Chaoshan area reflect the ingenuity of the creators. Peng Pan and Su Ping's arias and heavy singing include male, female and mixed choruses, highlighting the nationality and audibility.

The "monologue" of the female No. 1 Suping, the "dialogue" between Suping and Zhou Feng's mother-in-law are gentle and feminine, the "monologue" of the male No. 1 Hanyu (Peng Pan), and the "conversation" between him and the farmers are both rigid and soft. The "Ballad of grass" sung by farmers and the "Internationale" hummed by inmates have also been organically combined by composers.

From the ambition of "the wind rises", to the endless lament of "Crying Grandpa", from "soaring in the long sky" to the surge of passion, the tenor's singing voice conveys the rich and abundant feelings of the characters. In Du Ming's musical writing, Peng Pan's character image is more respectable and credible. From the deep groan of "look at the cold moon in the sky", to the anxiety of "when will Ah Pan return", to the concern of "a heart with you is the sky in front of you", the soprano's singing voice sang the delicate heart song of the character.

Xie Xiaoyong, a national first-class choreographer who won the "Wenhua Award" for his dance drama "Border City", designed a unique visual style. The stage design Wu Tian uses a simple and plain tone, the costume design Sun Yuling uses thick and light colors, and the lighting design Hu Yaohui uses a clear level of cold and warm, giving "Red Flowing" a significant visual identity that has both a sense of age and regional style.
