American enterprise Corning plus Anhui Hefei settled in ten projects in six years

Hefei, September 29 (Reporter Zhao Qiang) On the 29th, Hefei New Station High-tech Zone signed a contract with Corning Company and Haichen Logistics, and Corning China Logistics Distribution Center and Haichen Hefei New Station Intelligent Logistics Base officially opened.

Lan Tian, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Hefei New Station High-tech Zone, said that Corning is a global leading enterprise in materials technology innovation, and since the first project with Hefei New Station District in 2015, the two sides have continuously expanded the field of cooperation, involving LCD glass, automotive glass, environmental protection materials and other fields. Today, there are new projects in the supply chain sector, and 10 projects have been landed in 6 years, and the cooperation has yielded fruitful results.

According to reports, the signed project is Corning's 10th project in Hefei, and Corning has previously had 9 projects settled in Hefei New Station High-tech Zone. Since settling in Hefei in 2015, Corning has continued to expand the project process - the first line of the first phase of automotive interior glass was put into operation in July 2019, with an output value of about 70 million US dollars in 2020. The newly signed phase II project is to invest an additional US$135 million on the basis of the first phase of the project, add a production line, increase the output value by about 100 million US dollars, and plan to complete the investment in 2022, put into production that year, and achieve full production in 2023. In the past six years, Corning has invested more than $3 billion in Hefei, which has become one of Corning's largest manufacturing bases in the world.

Gao Kaiyu, Director of Supply Chain Management at Corning China, said that as corning's first nationwide, multi-business, and comprehensive logistics center in China, the project relies on 9 projects in 3 factories that have been landed in Hefei to carry out supporting services around supply chain assurance as the core, and then radiate the Corning project throughout Anhui, and dock with overseas Corning business in Shanghai, Wuhan and other places and along the China-Europe Railway, and its scale effect and brand effect will attract more Corning business departments and related Corning industrial chain enterprises to settle down. Further promote the development of Corning's business, and eventually expand to intensive procurement trade services and Corning's Asia Pacific spare parts center, providing a solid foundation for Corning to further deepen its cultivation in Hefei.
