#Listen today's Disc#Lu Guanting's "Wish"

A batch of newly baked upgraded fu black kings first dismantled this Lu Guanting's "Wish" to listen.

The latest batch of black kings, indeed for the first time TO CD Ye Liyi and a number of original only vinyl and tape albums, compilation albums, but when it comes to "Wish", I am afraid it is not the first CD, I remember a long time ago, there was a Toshiba version.

Regarding the Universal Black King, many friends around me can't look at it, and even some of them hide their discs, rejecting any Black King, feeling that this is an improper species.

I personally like the black king, not only because of the cheap reasons, mainly a small size, easy to save, the second because this kind of packaging, the earliest appeared in Japan, originally called Mini LP, so it is also completely in the way of shrinking vinyl packaging, mini version of the CD reproduction. Therefore, many designs, in fact, compared to traditional CD packaging, are more faithful to the original design, and in the era when vinyl was not revived before, they can pretend to be able to return to the vinyl era.

However, the early Universal Fu Black King, doing it is indeed too bad, completely photocopied printing, even the lyrics page in black and white inside, are too lazy to retype, directly copy things, counting some vinyl original lyrics The bottom version is gray, and the fu black king must shrink the size of the lyrics, that vision... It's about testing your eyesight. What's more, there are many albums, in order to save materials and effort, but also deleted a lot of vinyl inner page essence, so that the original intention of Mini LP changed the flavor.

In fact, the re-black king of Hong Kong's "Universal Music" is not particularly bad, and in the same period, "EMI Records", "Yongsheng Records", "Eternal Records" and other companies have also produced many re-black versions, and the feeling of the CD in the hand is even worse than the Re-Black King of Universal.

What's more, in the early years, the mainland seemed to be "Tiankai Records", and also introduced a lot of Universal's Fu black king, the earliest use of a special environmental protection design, with a CD tray, and later used back to the ordinary plastic box. So, does this company really know the black of the "Fu Black King", what does it mean? What exactly are they trying to do?

However, after upgrading the Black King, the quality of this series is still quite large, in addition to the obvious hardness of the outer paper cover, the poster on the inner page also completely follows the content of the vinyl version and has been re-typeseted. Some of the original vinyl was scaled down, the lyrics were blurred, and even a new lyric appendix was used separately.

I have also discussed with some friends before, in fact, the series of Fu Black King, I always feel that in the audio, I have deliberately adjusted. Now many old records continue to release various versions, especially the "Universal Music" hundred editions of the millennium plan, which is even more dazzling and countless, but most of the time, its practical general sound, can not hear any difference.

But the Universal Fu Black King series, even if you use the most ordinary audio listening, I can also feel that the overall will highlight the mid-frequency, the bass is not so submerged, the treble is not so sharp, and this sense of hearing is exactly the standard range of vinyl.

Then I began to listen to this Universal Black King version of Lu Guanting's "Wish". Although, if it is a fan who grew up with this vinyl album in Hong Kong, he will not recognize the prefix of "Universal Music", but will use memory branding, plus EMI, which is a logo that is unique to the disc.

"Wish" is an album about love, which sounds windless and waveless but peaceful and warm. If you look at the theme of most of the works, one of the songs on this album, "Heaven And Earth Change", seems to be more suitable to describe the entire album.

In fact, this is only the appearance, this is also the most attractive place of music, sometimes what you see and hear, may not be what you get.

In my personal feelings, as Lu Guanting's eighth solo album, "Wish" is very much like a continuation of the previous album, an ellipsis of emotion...

The album opens with a song of the same name "Wish", which is also the only non-original song on the album, the original song is actually the classic song "Edelweiss", after the re-adaptation, the whole work is no longer the romance of the original song, but has a Mass meaning, peace in the prayer, the meaning is also quiet and peaceful.

If "Wish" is like the intro of the album, then the last song", "Where the Day and Where", is Outro, the lyrics of "The Seas Are Not Divided", and the music design of the Erhu plus Snare Drum is also meaningful. However, in this song, I also heard the Cantonese elements on the melody, but it is also like Lu Guanting's way of creation, showing the genes inherited from his father Lu Haitian.

In fact, there are a lot of heavy songs in this album, like "Who is the Favorite" was originally written to Lin Zixiang, "Long Companion Millennium" was given to Chen Baiqiang two years ago, "Heaven Changes and Change" was for Jacky Cheung, and "With Love" was written to Su Rui, but was sung by Jiang Yuheng.

However, the song that Jiang Yuheng sang red is the Chinese version of "With Love" - "Looking Back Again".

The entire album is arranged by Roel Garcia, a Filipino musician, and Lin Guangpei, an old friend who is holding a Band with Ye Shirong. I prefer The Allegro rhythmic works edited by Roel Garica, such as "Storm in the Teacup", "Re-planning", "Love and Hate is Also Fate" and so on.

And the songs "Long Companion Millennium", "Who Loves The Most" and "Heaven And Earth Change", the arrangement of the original work is very plain, and it is also very suitable for the expression of emotional sincerity, but the arrangement in this album, because it is too professional, but there are more cumbersome timbres, like the synth and saxophone in "Long Companion Millennium", which are a bit redundant to me.

The same is true of "With Love", in fact, these works are more suitable for using Acoustic guitars in the arrangement, using Unplugged treatment, just like Jacky Cheung's original song "Heaven Changes and Changing Feelings", with xylophone plus small hits, it is enough.

Because in my opinion, Lu Guanting's voice is really infectious enough, especially the special sustain, Shuffle processing, really too personal style, and strange special, strange and comfortable kind. I don't know if this is related to Sir Lu's cognitive impairment of literacy, but sometimes I have to admit that all special geniuses, it is precisely because of imperfection, that they become perfect in art.

The album also has a song "Dream Heart", a generation of fans who grew up watching the video tape, no stranger, it comes from a movie in the same year that the album was released.

That movie, called "Jackie Chan"...
