As of 8 o'clock on October 3 this year, the average rainfall in the whole region was only 676.8 mm, which was 55% less than the same period of the year (1513.1 mm), which was the lowest rainfall in the city since the meteorological record was recorded in 1951, and the drought level was moderate drought to severe drought. In the face of the severe drought, Chaonan District, with the strong support of the municipal party committee, the municipal government, and the relevant departments directly under the municipal government, promptly adopted a series of measures such as emergency transfer of tap water from Shantou city every day, investment in the purchase of emergency water intake equipment and laying emergency pipelines, strengthening water production and water supply regulation and management, implementing water supply at the wrong time, and scientifically saving water, so as to fully guarantee the domestic water of urban and rural residents. However, due to the current drought, the water supply situation in our region is still very grim.
