The Grizzlies announced today that guard Dillon Brooks will undergo surgery for a fractured left hand and will undergo a follow-up examination in two to three weeks.
Brooks, who was initially injured in summer training, just finished his career-best last season, averaging a career-high 17.2 points and 1.2 steals per game in the regular season, and averaging 25.8 points per game in five playoff games.
With Brooks missing out on the start of the regular season, D'Antoni Melton and Desmond Bain should have more stable playing time.
