As a general public, it is estimated that the most heard is Disneyland. However, in the process of continuously inspecting the world's wonderful theme parks, the Lanyu Cultural Theme Park Planning and Design Institute found that the world's oldest, most popular and most outstanding theme park of the year was the largest theme park in the Netherlands, Eftrin. Today, Lanyu Culture will take you to see this theme park that is most worth visiting.
Efteling Fairytale World is the largest theme park in the Netherlands and is one of the oldest in the world. On May 31, 1952, the "Fairy Tale Forest" designed by the famous Dutch illustrator Anton Pieck opened in the park, and the day marked the official naming of the Eftelene Theme Park.

In 1972, it won the Golden Apple's highest honor award in the European tourism industry, which was the first theme park in the world to receive this honor, thus making it the best theme park in Europe. In 1992, it won the World's Most Popular Theme Park Award, followed by the 2004 Most Outstanding Theme Park Award from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).
Eftrin Theme Park: Past and Present
On May 31, 1952, the Eftrin Theme Park opened its doors to visitors for the first time. The natural scenery around the park is pleasant, and there was only one fairy tale forest and ten fairy tale scenes in the park at that time. Anton Pique was responsible for the design of the park, and filmmaker Pete Reindes provided expertise to help create a three-dimensional design that came to life. The park has the Sleeping Beauty Castle standing on the top of the hill, the beautiful square with trumpet-blowing messengers, and the famous long-necked fairy tale characters... More than 60 years later, Eftrin is still a breathtaking fairytale paradise. Visitors can challenge thrilling rides such as the Monty Python Roller Coaster, the Flying Dutchman Ghost Ship and the St. George and Dragon Roller Coaster to challenge one limit after another. Step into the dream world, visit the haunted house, trace the oriental-themed mirage, and enjoy the fairies and giants in the "Dream Journey". The last stop on Eftrin's tour is the spectacular world's third largest musical fountain, Agunola!
Since 1952, more than 120 million visitors have come to Eftrin for unforgettable happy hours. With more than 4 million visitors a year, Eftrin is already one of the largest theme parks in Europe. In addition to the amusement park, Eftrin also built hotels, resorts, golf courses, theaters and complete facilities for business events. In recent years, Aftrin has moved in the direction of filming TV series, producing music, and establishing children's radio stations, no longer limited to the original theme park positioning in Katzhefer. However, in the path of diversification, Eftrin has never departed from its core theme: to tell people wonderful fairy tales, adventure stories, legends, myths and other stories.
Eftrin plans to upgrade itself from a regional park to a short holiday destination with 5 million annual visitors by 2020. Eftrin will be committed to creating a top-notch outing experience for visitors, with theme park visits and accommodation in Katzhevell being the top priorities in achieving this goal. By the summer of 2015, Eftrin had completed two major projects: the construction of a new Vertical Roller Coaster Baron 1898, and the expansion of the Eftrin Chalet Village.

Baron 1898 takes visitors through the late 19th century, when the Dutch mining industry was booming, and visitors took on the role of miners, experiencing free fall from a height of 37.5 meters (about 123 feet) and entering the mine at a speed of about 90 kilometers per hour. The construction of barons in 1898 cost more than 18 million euros.
