The founding band of British pop rock, The Kinks

The Kinks was formed in 1963 and was active in the 60s and 70s. They were one of the founding bands of British pop rock, with a mix of psychedelic/pop/rock styles. Together with Beatles, The Who and Rolling Stone, they called the British rock scene Big Four, set off the so-called British invasion and swept the world. In 1990, for their outstanding contributions to music, he was elected a rock and roll hall of famer. The band disbanded in 1996 and released 23 studio albums. In 2005, he became one of the first british music hall of fame members. Like many pop rock bands, The Kinks' greatest tragedy is that they are in the same era as Beatles and have a similar style, so even people who don't know anything about rock and roll know the Beatles or the Beatles, but not many people know about The Kinks. But their music is really good, probably the most necessary band in the British Big Four to know for everyone.

Between 1964 and 1965, a series of their singles were a huge success, with You Really Got Me (you really got me) becoming the UK chart number one and the top ten in the US charts, a song that marked Ray's writing career and The Kinks' rise in the UK and even the world pop scene. In 1964, after the Beatles' successful tour, countless British bands and showrunners flocked to the United States like a discovery of a new continent, looking forward to becoming an international star like the Beatles. And the U.S. music market, which has just been violently shaken by the Beatles, has no time to put up any resistance. In an instant, people with Beatle hairstyles, electric guitars, and London accents filled the major Record Stores and Charts in the United States. However, in such an almost crazy wave, it is difficult to ensure the level and quality of the band. With the exception of a few bands like the Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, The Animals, and their bands that eventually made the classic band legendary, many bands disappeared in a short time, even the Dave Clark Five, who was just as hot as the Beatles at the time, and "Gary and the Frontrunners." Neither Gerry & the Pacemakers could go any further. This also seems to show that a band cannot become a great band if it is only satisfied with singing some songs that the audience likes, without a higher artistic pursuit. Like the Beatles, they emerged as real artists by releasing several excellent records in 1966 and 1967.

The brothers Ray Davies and Dave Davies from the north of England received guitars from their parents as teenagers, so the two formed Ray Davies Quartet. Finally, in 1963, the men formed The Kinks with Mick Avory, former drummer for The Rolling Stones, and signed to Pye Records. After two failed attempts, the band's third single, "You Really Got Me," topped the UK charts and No. 7 in the US charts. The song features a rustic guitar run, thus becoming a model of heavy metal music; He was followed by another equally influential hit single, All Day and All of The Night, and Tired of Waiting for You, who won the UK charts twice (later covered by green day). The self-titled album (American version of You Really Got Me) was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic in 1965.

Over the next two years, the band set seven more British hit singles– including sunny afternoon and classic Waterloo Sunset, all written by brother Ray. Meanwhile, Kinda Kinks and The Kinks Kontroversy (both released in 1965), Face to Face (1966) and Something Else by The Kinks (1967) continued to lead the domestic album charts. (Since then, their albums have been more popular in the U.S. than domestically.) However, infighting between the bands – especially the Davies brothers, who have always had a bad temper – and management problems with the band led to the band not touring the United States for 4 years, Dave Davies released another solo album in 2007; RayDavies went on a series of tours and released a series of albums. Hailed as a source of inspiration by Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn, RayDavies received the British Empire Medal of Honour (OBE) in 2004 and later the British Music Outstanding Contribution Award at the Ivor Novello Music Award. In 2012, he remade classic songs and included them on the album See My Friends, paying tribute to the classic powers that have influenced countless people, including Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Jackson Browne, Jon Bon jovi, Black francis of Pixies, Mumford & Sons, Alex Chilton, Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol and Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins.
