Early Western societies were popular in duels, even justice was permitted, and god would protect the righteous side, which led to early Europe as large as robbery and crime, as small as trivial, many people directly used duels to solve problems, and many celebrities died in duels. Here are a few.

1. Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin

Pushkin

Pushkin (6 June 1799 – 10 February 1837) was a Russian poet, playwright, novelist, literary critic and theorist, historian, and political commentator. An outstanding representative of Russian Romanticism, the founder of Russian realist literature, one of the most prestigious figures in the field of literature in the early nineteenth century, he is revered as "the sun of Russian poetry", "the father of Russian literature", and the founder of modern standard Russian.

Pushkin's literary achievements are well known, he died in a duel, at the age of 37, so why did he have to duel? It had to be said to his beautiful wife, Natalia. Natalia was the daughter of the Moscow nobleman Goncharov and was very beautiful. It is rumored that Tsar Nicholas I and the French officer d'Anthès were all infatuated with her. In 1830, Pushkin married her after a successful second marriage proposal.

Natalia was a famous beauty in st. Petersburg's social circles at that time, known as the "swan of St. Petersburg", and pushkin and his wife became regular visitors to court activities, but this high-society life increased pushkin's financial burden, and pushkin borrowed everywhere, and it is said that before his death, the debt had reached 120,000 rubles. This put enormous pressure on Pushkin. During this period, a gendarmerie captain, George Dants, fell madly in love with his wife, and the two often met and danced together.

In November 1836, Pushkin received an anonymous letter laughing at him as a turtle, and soon the whole city was full of gossip. On February 8, 1837, Pushkin could not bear it, and for the sake of fame, he engaged in a duel with Dantes, which determined extremely cruel conditions: the distance between the two sides was only ten steps, and after the first double shot was not hit by the other, the duel resumed until one of them fell to the ground. This means that one person must be shot and fall to the ground.

Pushkin was badly wounded in the abdomen and died two days later in the duel, when the newspaper of the time carried the following headline: "The Sun of Russian Poetry Has Fallen."

But there seems to be a conspiracy theory about the duel, which was deliberately induced by the Russian royal family to get rid of Pushkin, because Pushkin's poetry often satirizes them. In any case, the great poet eventually died in a duel.

2. Alexander Hamilton

Aaron Burr

The Burr-Hamilton duel is the most famous feud in American political history, stemming largely from the long-standing political differences between the two men. In 1804, Burr ran for governor of New York as a senator, but the media controlled by Hamilton tried to discredit Burr, and the tension reached its peak, culminating in a duel in which Burr began a duel, which Ended in Hamilton.

At dawn on July 11, 1804, Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton sailed from Manhattan down the Hudson River to Weehawken Heights in New Jersey. When the duel begins, Hamilton shoots first, but the shot is deflected, and Burr immediately responds, and Hamilton is shot and falls, according to the doctor who was present at the time;

When I arrived, he was seriously injured. At the time, he was sitting on the ground, supported by Pendleton's arm. I will never forget the face he looked like when he died. He braced himself with the strength of the last moment and said to me: This must be a fatal injury, doctor. After that, he was like a shipwreck, not feeling a little breath of life. I immediately undo his uniform and soon found the bullet passing through his body, wounding several of his vital organs. His pulse was gradually becoming imperceptible, and his breathing had completely stopped. My hand was in front of his heart, not perceiving any rhythm. He will die irretrievably. Nevertheless, Pendleton and I immediately took him to the water's edge, seizing the opportunity that might finally lift his spirits. We carried him to the river and the barge crew helped us carry him to the boat and immediately set sail. During this time I still don't see any signs that he will survive. So I rubbed the ammonia as hard as I could on his face, lips, and temples, and smeared some on his chest, neck, wrists, palms, and even mouth.

Hamilton woke up for a while because of ammonia or because of fresh air

When he woke up, he happened to see the suitcase containing the pistol. He stared at the one he had just held and said, "Notice that gun, which still has bullets, is still full of lethality and could cause damage by misfire, Pendleton (Hamilton's assistant) knows, (he tried to turn his head to look at Pendleton) I didn't think to fire at him." "Yes," said Mr. Pendleton, "Dr. Hossack already knows your wishes. Hamilton closed his eyes and didn't say much afterwards except to answer some of my questions. He asked how I had found his pulse and told me that his limbs had been completely unconscious. He mentioned that he had no hope of surviving
