Wen Morrenton

In 1987, I was appointed as the director of guangzhou Youth Culture Palace. In 1988, under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Youth League, the "China Youth Palace Association" was established in the Chengdu Youth Palace. Since then, dozens of youth palaces, such as Beijing Youth Palace, Shanghai Youth Palace, Guangzhou Youth Culture Palace, Guangzhou Children's Palace, Chengdu Youth Palace, Harbin Youth Palace, Wuhan Youth Palace, Hangzhou Youth Palace, etc., have followed the tide of reform and opening up and carried out various forms of creative youth cultural exchange activities. Each youth palace has its own advantages and characteristics. Through exchange activities, we should strengthen our determination to reform and opening up, never forget our original intentions, and run the Youth Palace well, so that the work of young people can adapt to the new development of the new era.

1989-1999 was an unforgettable day for my youth work in Guangzhou, and a colorful day for youth cultural exchange activities in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao. Recalling this period of history, as a pioneer and operator of youth cultural exchanges in the three places, I deeply feel that hard work and dedication can open up the boundaries of career; practice has proved that the youth culture of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao has a good prospect of integrated development.

In the 1980s, China's reform and opening up developed in depth, and Guangzhou, which is adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao, was the first to sense and contact the Hong Kong and Macao cultures that combine Chinese and Western cultures due to its superior geographical location, and the traditional and popular culture and art blended with the modern, trendy, and popular market cultures to complement each other and complement each other, forming a new convergence of cultures in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao. This new culture of a hundred flowers competing for research and pleasing the eye, like a breeze blowing into the land of Guangzhou, South China, has become a new pursuit of Guangzhou's youth fashion culture, and has also injected new impetus into the youth cultural exchanges in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao. As the organizer of Guangzhou youth cultural activities, under the leadership of the Guangzhou Youth League Municipal Committee, the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace has set its sights on Hong Kong and Macao with its keen cultural tentacles and social responsibilities, expanded its cultural horizons, and focused on promoting and improving the cultural level of young people to adapt to and guide the new cultural trend. To this end, a series of "Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao Youth Cultural Exchange Plan" has been implemented to expand youth cultural undertakings in The spirit of "dare to do" in The three places of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao.

In 1990, the China Youth Palace Association, the Guangzhou Youth Federation and the Guangzhou Youth Culture Palace jointly hosted the "Seminar on the Service and Development of Youth Palaces and Youth Centers in China's Coastal Reform and Opening Up Cities and Hong Kong and Macao Regions". At the meeting, the Shanghai Youth Palace, the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace, the Shenzhen Youth Palace, and the Hong Kong and Macao Youth Cultural Center introduced the cultural activities of young people and discussed the service and development of youth culture. After the meeting, the Mainland Youth Palace carried out cultural exchange activities with the Coastal Youth Palace, which is at the forefront of reform and opening up. In particular, the cultural fronts of young people in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao have jointly opened up a new situation of development through mutual understanding, mutual learning, and strengthening cooperation. The history of the ten years of exchanges between the youth culture of Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao carried out by the Guangzhou Youth Culture Palace clearly records:

The first "88th Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macao Beauty and Makeup Exhibition Competition" co-hosted with Hong Kong and Macao and produced a sensational effect;

The first to form an alliance with the Hong Kong Amusement Park Association and jointly held the "Urban Style" photography exhibition for the first time, and its influence impressed the photography circles in Guangdong Province and City;

The first large-scale Cantonese stage play "Crashing Board Winds", which co-produced with Hong Kong Zhongtian Productions Co., Ltd. and attracted the attention of the Hong Kong theater community;

The first to cooperate with Macao to establish the "Southern Cultural and Educational Development Center", with the purpose of organizing young people from the two places to carry out various cultural exchanges, training, education and other activities;

The first to establish the "Sui'ao Red Boat Opera Art Museum" with the Macao "Haitao Opera Society" to carry out Sui'ao opera activities;

…………

Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace organized and planned diversified cultural activities covering ideological education, cultural knowledge, literature and art, etc., which have produced a wide range of social impacts and played a positive role in the prosperity of youth culture in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao, and its results embody the spirit of "devoting oneself wholeheartedly to the palace and establishing a career for the palace", and also embody the continuous progress of young cultural workers in Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Macao and the sense of social responsibility of serving young people. Young cultural workers in the three places have made great contributions to the innovative development of the youth cultural undertakings of the three places.
