Many people remember some interesting things that U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo said in a speech in 19 years. On April 15, 2019, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave a lecture at A&M University in Texas and answered questions from students. One student asked a question about U.S. foreign policy toward a disputed country like Saudi Arabia, to which Pompeo replied: "I served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). We lie, we cheat, we steal. We also have a course dedicated to teaching these. This is the glory of the United States' continuous exploration and progress. These few words also triggered a warm applause at the scene.
After this remark was made, it caused widespread discussion in the international community. Of course, those who are familiar with the history of the United States, especially the history of the CIA, know that Pompeo's words actually glorify the CIA's behavior, because the CIA's past actions are far more than lying, cheating, and stealing.
In 2016, NETFLIX produced a science fiction thriller called Stranger Things, which takes place in Indiana, during the Cold War, and tells the story of a protagonist with superpowers in the background of two real projects during the Cold War in the United States. In fact, the MKUltra program was not the first such experiment in the United States, and before that, there was also a famous program called "Paper Clip", which was disclosed in the book "Doctors of the CIA" by Colin Ross, highlighting the details of several prominent psychiatrists and pharmacologists who worked closely with the CIA, as well as doctors employed by the CIA and hospitals and social groups. Like the Stargate Project, the Paper Clip Project and the MKUltra Program were inhumane human experiments conducted by the CIA in the name of opposing the Socialist bloc countries such as the Soviet Union, China, and North Korea.
