In December 2019, the fishermen of Xin'an River were launched to withdraw from fishing, and the fishermen who "took the river as the field and fed on the fish" for generations "went ashore" to ensure that "a river of clear water came out of Xin'an". In order to "retire from fishing and not cause poverty", Shexian County has carried out various job training and given subsidies to fishermen to guide them to transfer to ecological agriculture, ecological aquaculture, and ecological tourism. Relying on characteristic agricultural products and cultural and ecological resources, fishermen have set up new tourism formats such as farmhouses, homestays and tea houses, gradually forming an industrial model that combines agriculture and tourism, and driving the development of rural tourism.
