Yibin Cuiping District Street History Selection - Xiaobei Street

Xiaobei Street (formerly known as "Xinsheng Road", "Hongwei Road"), the beginning and end of this street: this street runs north-south, from the T-shaped mouth of East Street in the south to the east exit of Zhongshan Street in the north. Xiaobei Street is an old street of the Ming Dynasty, built in the Hongwu period, adjacent to the wharf, in the central area at that time, with more residents. However, after the war at the end of the Ming Dynasty, there were only a few straw huts left on this street, and there were few visitors.

After the middle of the Qing Dynasty, Xiaobei Street was prosperous again, and a number of catering and gourmet restaurants were built successively, and flavored snacks swept the city. For example, the "strange chicken" in Xiaobei Street was operated in Yibin in the nineteenth year of the Republic of China (1930) by Leshan Li ** and Chen ** couples, first set up stalls, and then set up shops on this street to expand their operations. "Noontime Rice", originated in Leshan, the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931) Leshan people Lai Fu came to Yibin and cooperated with Yibin people Luo Shaoqing to operate, because this rice is only open at noon, morning and evening is not supplied, so it is named "Noon time". "Stewed chicken noodles" is one of the varieties operated by Teacher Jiang Ronghua in Xiaobei Street "Hejiang Garden" noodle restaurant during the Republic of China period, and later moved to South Street. There is also a Hui halal "Hui Hui Hall". Tang's "one bite of Chung" fish noodle restaurant, etc., is also a thriving business every day. Guanshengyuan sweets and pastries also have a store in this street. This street is at the intersection of College Street and East Street, which was bustling for a while, and was once called "Delicious Street" by the people of Yibin.

No. 13 Xiaobei Street "Rong Truth Museum" was founded in the 27th year of the Republic of China (1938), the founder wu Chungu, the business hall has more than 100 square meters.

In 1953, Yibin folk artists spontaneously formed the "Yibin Qu Art Field", after the scale expanded, the number of personnel increased, to around 1956 developed into the first Yibin Qu Art Troupe in Sichuan, and received government support, at the end of the same year by the government to build a theater in Xiaobei Street for qu art troupe performances, after yibin qu art troupe and Yibin qu art occasions, it was renamed "Yibin Quyi Theater", and later renamed "Yibin District Cultural and Industrial Troupe".

In 1987, the Yibin District Cultural troupe was renamed "Yibin District Song and Dance Troupe", and in 1997, after Yibin was withdrawn and established as a city, it was renamed "Yibin City Song and Dance Troupe".

Xiaobei Street "Jiudu Theater" is a public place for song and dance troupes to perform and receive performances by foreign theater troupes, and the theater must organize and arrange 900 song, dance and drama performances every year.

In order to meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of the masses, in 1986, the Yibin Regional Cultural troupe negotiated with the Yibin Regional Film Company and decided to turn the Jiudu Theater into a movie theater, so that the Jiudu Theater had another function - film screening.
