A luxury estate in California just changed hands for $83 million, the second most expensive residential deal in California this year, according to real estate website Dirt.
The mansion measures 20,000 square feet and has 6 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms and a retractable roof, as well as four theaters, a large swimming pool and a spa, all in all with all the amenities and safety measures that the super-rich would want.
The identity of the buyer was not made public, but according to real estate sources, the new owner became rich by investing in cryptocurrencies. This is part of the trend of more and more cryptocurrency billionaires entering the luxury real estate market.
Forbes estimates that there are currently 12 cryptocurrency billionaires worldwide (with a net worth of more than $1 billion), compared to just four in 2020.
