After Lu Xun grew up, he studied the "New Theory of the Whole" and "The Theory of Chemical Hygiene" in the Jiangnan Water Teacher's School, and later stayed in Japan to study Western medicine, and after learning the knowledge of modern scientific theory, he was naturally very convinced of Western medicine, and began to criticize the "deceptive" trick of Chinese medicine. However, as his experience grew, Lu Xun gradually discovered the benefits of TCM. According to Lu Xun's diary, "Drinking ginger juice to cure stomach pain is even healed"; "abdominal pain in the afternoon, make ginger juice to drink"; "drink wujiapi wine in the evening because of shoulder pain".
After discovering the benefits of TCM, he began to treat his loved ones with TCM. Lu Xun used the "Anfu Anti-inflammatory Cream" with a "mint flavor" and the hot compress of mustard paste to treat his son's asthma, often "after this hot compress, I felt that my breathing was greatly unobstructed", and its effect was quite good. Mrs. Lu Xun used the Black Chicken White Phoenix Pill to cure herself of the disease she had suffered from for several months.
Later, Lu Xun wrote in "The Experience of The Southern Cavity and the Northern Mobilization": Some of the experiences passed down by the ancients are really extremely valuable, because they have spent many sacrifices and left great benefits to future generations.

Hu Shi was the leader of the opposition to Chinese medicine at that time. In November 1920, when Hu Shi was teaching at Peking University, he suffered from severe diabetes and nephritis. At the beginning, Peking Union Medical College Hospital adopted the Western medical method for a long time, and the condition was not reduced, but became more and more serious, the whole body was puffy, there was blood in the urine, and the doctors in the hospital were helpless.
Cai Yuanpei, president of Peking University, signaled Ma Youyu and introduced the famous doctor Lu Zhong'an to diagnose and treat him. Lu's reuse of astragalus and Huai Yam, after three months of treatment, the disease was lost. For a while, the whole country was shocked, thinking that unscientific Chinese medicine could use Chinese medicine to cure the terminal illness of new people who flaunted science and swept Europe and the United States.
Since then, Hu Shi has lived for more than 40 more years. This pushed Hu Shi into a very embarrassing situation. On the one hand, he is a leader who openly opposes Chinese medicine, and on the other hand, Chinese medicine heals his "incurable disease". In the face of facts, Hu Shi had to retreat and think that "Chinese medicine is not scientific, very confused, but it can cure diseases."

This incident spread throughout the country through extensive media coverage at the time. With the support of public opinion throughout the country, the Wang authorities were finally forced to withdraw their lives, and the storm of "abolishing China" finally subsided temporarily.

In March 1926, Liang Qichao went to The Union Hospital for treatment due to bloody back pain in the stool, and X-ray showed that there was a dark spot in the left kidney, and the doctor diagnosed that the left kidney was tuberculosis and needed surgery. At that time, Liang Qichao had a good relationship with Mr. Xiao Longyou, one of the "four famous doctors", and specially asked Mr. Xiao to follow up. After Xiao Longyou cut liang Qichao's pulse, he categorically denied the diagnosis results of Union Hospital, urged Liang Qichao not to engage in hasty work, and prescribed medicine for Liang Qichao and diagnosed and treated traditional Chinese medicine. After taking Mr. Xiao's traditional Chinese medicine, Liang Qichao suddenly felt refreshed and quite effective. Later, the disease recurred. Xiao Youlong believes that the recurrence of the disease is mainly due to the fact that Liang Qichao has not stopped reading and studying. Therefore, he advised Liang Qichao that "you can't rely solely on medicine to cure diseases, three points to see a doctor and seven points to nourish, if you want to completely restore your health, you must put down your books and recuperate with peace of mind, otherwise even if Hua Tuo is reborn, there is nothing he can do." Unexpectedly, Liang Qichao actually took his friend's words as a sidekick. Not long after, Liang Qichao's condition did deteriorate, and he rushed to The Union Hospital to prepare for surgery. After being hospitalized, Liang Qichao was tormented by illness, and he also had doubts and dissatisfaction with the hospital's treatment plan, and he wrote in a letter to Liang Sicheng and his wife: "This time it is a big dang in The Union Hospital. He was only in charge of healing, and without regard to the whole of his body, he poured two cups of laxative oil every day for ten days, and he poured out his appetite..."
In this case, The Union Hospital hastily performed surgery on Liang Qichao, but the operation was wrong, and the healthy kidney was cut off, leaving the sick kidney, and on January 19, 1929, Liang Qichao died of illness at Peking Union Medical College Hospital at the age of 56.
