As for the Stalin Gold Medal that Sun Jiadong won, I don't know if any military fans noticed that the play gave several short close-ups, but its name is actually not called Stalin Gold Medal!
The real name of this kind of medal is very long, called the medal awarded to the outstanding graduates of a certain military academy, which is probably why it was translated into Stalin's gold medal.
Such medals of the Soviet Army were awarded only in the 1950s, such as the one won by Sun Jiadong, whose full name is "Awarded to outstanding graduates of the Н.Е. Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering College".
The close-up given in the play is actually not very clear. That's because... This kind of medal is really too small!
The medallion is only 26 mm in diameter and weighs only 11 grams, and the medallions of this military academy are rare, and the pictures are not very easy to find, as follows:

The obverse of the medal is a profile of Stalin, written Н.Е. Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy.
On the back is an award to outstanding graduates of the College.
In the play, when Sun Jiadong participated in the development of artificial satellites, he appeared as a commander and fighter wearing a Type 65 military uniform.

Of course, from Type 55, Type 58 to Type 65, there is a very interesting detail, that is, the way the red collar badge is embellished.
Judging from the People's Liberation Army honor guard and the film and television dramas filmed in the 1990s, the way the red collar badge is embellished is in line with the unified standard, which is simply that the red collar badge is pasted on one side of the neckline, leaving an equal spacing between the top and bottom.

It seems that the domestic film cut the sky-high film remuneration, found a reliable prop group, and improved the authenticity of the Soviet military uniforms immediately.

At this time, the Soviet military uniforms were modified in many ways on the basis of the 1943 style.
Soviet winter uniform
For example, the hat emblem was changed from a perfect circle to an oval shape. The general's collar badge is a military background color with a bay leaf pattern. The collars of other commanders and soldiers are embellished with class symbols and so on.
The play is also interspersed with scenes of Sun Jiadong studying at the Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering College in the Soviet Union. Notice the badge worn on the uniforms of the cadets, which is the cadet badge of this military school. There is no close-up in the play, so you may wish to show it to you.
Two styles
On the left side of the picture above is the Soviet era style, diamond-shaped frame, the center is a red five-star, and the red five-star is a pattern composed of bay leaves, five-pointed stars, earth, CPSU emblem, light, books and flying wings.

On the right side of the picture above is the style of the Russian era, the basic design idea remains unchanged, but the central pattern is replaced by the Russian double-headed eagle coat of arms.

As for the red relief style in the play, I don't know if anyone has studied it.
In general, as long as the domestic crew spends money on aspects that can really improve the quality of film and television, they must have improved the props.
It is suggested that the crew's thinking can be flexible, for example, the crew of Li Yannian's unit mentioned that they even asked American actors who played the US military to polish their lines, so that the English lines in the play sounded very authentic and in line with the expression habits of Americans.
So can actors from relevant countries contact their prop counterparts or military historians in those countries to provide assistance for some of the military uniform weapon props involved and jointly improve the level of Chinese film and television dramas.
