Professor Sheng Min, a "Yangtze River Scholar" and "National Jieqing" who was working in front of the computer, slowly turned around, and his kind smiling face was particularly bright against the background of the dark blue shirt. This academic general who has almost "guaranteed" and "broken the rules" all the way, who can lead soldiers and fight wars, and who grasps both scientific research and teaching, is an outstanding scientist in the field of information and communications, and is also an "academic goddess" in the hearts of many Xidian students.

Sheng Min after the 70s is a "crazy" Xiang girl in the army compound, with a character that is rare for girls to have perseverance and vigor, showing a strong curiosity from a young age, likes to collect "question marks" and overcome problems. She is also the "other people's child" in the mouth of many parents, wearing a "school bully" hat from middle school all the way to graduate school.
"It looks like a brick, how can this thing be used for a conversation?" In 1993, Sheng Min, who was fascinated by the "big brother" in the film and television drama, in order to straighten this "question mark", did not hesitate to choose the Xidian series of professional "appetite" and began to learn computer communication theory in a down-to-earth manner.
Sheng Min, who stayed in school to teach because of his excellent performance in all aspects, as an academic recruit, gradually realized the beauty of networking technology, and was immersed in the study of heterogeneous wireless network self-organization theory and method for 20 years.
"If you persist in scientific research, you will be able to enjoy landscapes that belong to only a few people. There is no need to think much about the results, the pleasure of the process has been obtained, so the research itself is the reward of the research. ”
In the process of tackling the problem day and night, overtime until three or four o'clock in the morning will never let Sheng Min "long and short sigh", for her, there is basically no concept of holidays, brush the circle of friends to know that the original day is a festival, even their birthdays, often in writing "books" or debugging equipment to spend.

From routing closed-loop to conflict decomposition, the team that was the first in the country to study group radio networks broke through one problem after another, spent 10 years studying how to ensure the large-scale development of the network, and wrote a "birth certificate" of scientific research results with focus as ink.
After 2008, in view of the problem of low utilization rate of heterogeneous converged wireless network resources, Sheng Min and his team established a heterogeneous self-organizing resource management architecture, proposed an overall solution for wireless LAN network mobility, and realized wireless LAN access in a variety of coverage areas, as well as the organic integration of wireless LAN and cellular network.
"This research is tantamount to plugging in the 'wings' of the wireless LAN, meeting the access needs of users anytime, anywhere, so that the network can go with it." Talking about this research that won the second prize of the National Technological Invention Award, Sheng Min, as the second person to complete the project, could not help but speed up.
What is the "pole" that crosses every obstacle to scientific research? Sheng Min boiled it down to the "five hearts": the original heart, not only to choose the path of scientific research, but to take on the forward, to choose the good and stubborn; the heart, sensitive to the discovery of small doubts, spare no effort to find the answer; patience, the road is long and rugged, if you want to achieve things, you clench your teeth and choose to give up the "alpine cuckoo" that will not reach the peak; a strong heart, the failure of scientific research is staged every day, unless there is a strong heart and cannot cheer up; the ordinary heart, do not think about the results in the process, and let nature bear the sweetest fruit.
In the face of the unavoidable problem of many female scientists ,"How to balance work and life", Sheng Min said: "I still believe that there will be an 'optimal solution', and a good family atmosphere is the help of work rather than the obstacle." "The warmth of the family makes Sheng Min love life and often burst out of inspiration for work." My son is 12 years old this year, and he is always 'free-range', and 'free-range' also has a clear advantage - because he is not always concerned, he is always improving. What makes Sheng Min happy is that his persistence and efforts are also quietly projected on the child.
At present, Sheng Min, as the director of the State Key Laboratory of Integrated Service Network Theory and Key Technologies, has stepped into the journey of straightening the "new question mark" in the field of dense network and ultra-dense network research. In the eyes of his son, Sheng Min is more like a "magician" who can insert invisible "wings" into the network, hand dancing a "magic wand" made of perseverance and diligence, constantly seeking truth and creating miracles in the online world.
