After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhu Guofu stayed on as a teacher at Chongqing University, and was elected as the leader of the Wushu Research and Finishing Group of the Southwest Branch of the National Sports Federation, a member of the Chinese Wushu Society, and the first vice chairman of the Chongqing Wushu Association. In 1953, Zhu Guofu accepted the invitation of Marshal He Long of the Southwest Military Region to cultivate martial arts talents for the army, and compiled effective military teaching materials such as bayonets and stabs for the army. On June 15, 1968, Zhu Guofu died in Chongqing at the age of 77.
