Today, I would like to introduce you to the famous "Mr. Chinese Painting" from Zunhua - Qin Zhongwen.

Qin Zhongwen (1896-1974), Mingyu, alias "Liangzihe Village", Zunhua Dongxinzhuang Town, West Liangzihe Village, modern and modern Chinese painter, art historian, art educator. In 1915, he entered the Law Department of Peking University, and in 1918, he participated in the Peking University Painting Research Society sponsored by Cai Yuanpei, and studied painting from He Luzhi, Chen Shizeng, Tang Dingzhi, etc., and later specialized in landscapes. He successively taught at the School of Art of Peking University, the Jinghua Art College, the National Art College, and also wrote the History of Chinese Painting in 1934, and served as a painter and a member of the Academic Council of the Beijing Academy of Chinese Painting. He has published a variety of "Qin Zhongwen Painting Collection". He has created works such as "Sketching on Shafeng Road", "Minshan Encounters Rain", "Yueyang Tower", "Wujiang Heavenly Danger" and so on.
The famous "three professors strike" incident:
Qin Zhongwen is one of the important representative painters of China's traditional Northern School who insists on pen and ink. On October 1, 1947, Qin Zhongwen, Li Zhichao and Chen Yuandu of the Chinese Painting Group of the Art College, dissatisfied with the various measures taken by the school against the Chinese Painting Group in the past year, sent a special letter to the principal Xu Beihong, putting forward inquiries and demands, opposing Xu Beihong's teaching method of "using sketching to imitate the foundation of Chinese painting" in the teaching and creation of Chinese painting, and stopped teaching at the same time. Xu Beihong did not respond to the questions and demands of the third professor, and took a strong stance: "If you are in agreement, you will stay, and if you are not in agreement, you will go." As the situation escalated, the Beiping Art Association responded to the strike of the three professors and issued the "Declaration on Opposing Xu Beihong's Destruction of Chinese Painting", and Xu Beihong threw out the "Steps to establish a New Chinese Painting" based on the theory that "drawing is the foundation of all plastic arts", thus staged a long-standing debate on Chinese painting. After the summer of that year, the three were dismissed by Xu Beihong and suffered political snubs, which was the sensational "Three Professors Incident".
In the early 1950s, Qin Zhongwen toured the scenery of Sichuan, Qian, Dian, Gui, Jin, and Gyeonggi, and created a large number of new works that reflected the beauty of nature and human nature. In his later years, he also painted flowers and birds. Mozhu and Momei are also unique and have extraordinary charm.
Qin Zhongwen has always vigorously maintained the traditional painting methods and characteristics, not to mention the "Three Professors Incident" who is right and who is wrong, as a Genius of Zunhua Calligraphy and Painting Wenyuan, his persistent and determined artistic pursuit has been praised by posterity.
