2021 is the 30th anniversary of the "94th edition" of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms".
As the dividing line between the north and the south of the Chinese mainland, Hanzhong was also the focus of the three-legged momentum in the chaotic era of the "Three Kingdoms" at the end of the Han Dynasty.
The Battle of Hanzhong, which began in the 22nd year of Jian'an (217) and ended in May of the 24th year of Jian'an (219), lasted for nearly two years, and finally ended with shu Han capturing Hanzhong and holding the transportation line from the loess slope of northern Shaanxi to the sichuan basin. In 263, 43 years later (the sixth year of Jingyao of the Shu Han Dynasty and the first year of Xingyan), after relatively adequate preparations, Sima Zhao officially launched the Battle of Wei to destroy Shu. In the Battle of Shu, the 100,000-strong army led by Zhong Hui, the main general of the Eastern Route Army, was Hanzhong. It was also Zhong Hui's 100,000 troops who captured Hanzhong and confronted the main force of the Shu Han army led by Jiang Wei at the Jiang Pavilion that Deng Ai smuggled across Yinping, crossed the 700-mile desolate area, chiseled the mountains and opened the way, came to the hinterland of Shu Han, surrounded Chengdu, forced Liu Chan to surrender, and destroyed Shu Han.
It can be said that Hanzhong is the starting point from the conquest of the deer to the three divisions of the world, and the turning point from the three-legged standing to the return of the three kingdoms to the Jin, which has extremely important military geography significance. Almost half of the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" revolves around Hanzhong.
The most comprehensive demonstration of the importance of military geography in Hanzhong is the 84-episode "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" filmed by China Central Television from October 1994 to February 1995, which is also the third "Four Masterpieces" to be put on the screen.
In that year, CCTV spent 170 million yuan to shoot "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Until now, it is equivalent to more than 3 billion yuan of purchasing power, you know, even if it was an actor who played Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, Cao Cao, and Sun Quan, it was only 225 yuan a day "film remuneration".
In July 1989, the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" crew was established, and on June 13, 1990, the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" leading group was established, with Wang Feng, director of CCTV, as the team leader, and Wang Fulin as the general director in August.
In August 1990, a screenwriting team composed of Du Jiafu, Zhu Xiaoping, Liu Shusheng, Ye Shisheng, Li Yibo and Zhou Kai was established to start script writing. (Du Jiafu created episodes 1 to 11, Zhu Xiaoping created episodes 12 to 26, Liu Shusheng created episodes 27 to 39, Ye Shisheng created episodes 40 to 54, Li Yibo created episodes 60 to 73, and Zhou Kai created episodes 55 to 59 and 74 to 84).
In February 1991, the "casting" began, and in the late spring of 1991, nearly 1,000 actors were selected, from Beiying, Bayi Factory, Beijing Renyi, Qingyi, Children's Art, Beijing Children's Art, General Political, Air Politics, Haizheng and other units. On July 2, the actors' study class was established to learn the language, etiquette, utensils, martial arts and other knowledge of the Three Kingdoms period, and the actor study class ended smoothly on July 20.
In April 1991, the filming of "Taoyuan Sanjieyi" was filmed, and on July 15, "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" was officially launched.
After multiple sets of coordination and post-reshoot, the 94th edition of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" took 3 years and 5 months to shoot alone, with an investment of 170 million yuan and nearly 100 million yuan for the construction of shooting bases, such as the two major film and television bases in Zhuozhou and Wuxi that were established at that time, in which the actors' costumes were more than 1,000 kinds, more than 30,000 sets, costing about 5 million yuan; nearly 70,000 props, costing about 7 million yuan. Some special scenery also allowed the film crew to shoot in more than ten provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions such as Inner Mongolia in the north, Gansu in the west, and Yunnan in the south. Compared with the current series where some individual salaries account for more than half of the total production cost, the actors are just "lip-sync, eye-catching, and action stunts", which is really a "conscience big production" in the "conscience big production". The 94th edition of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is an unattainable peak in the current "Three Kingdoms Drama".
Unfortunately, the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" of that year did not shoot Hanzhong, which may be the biggest "fly in the ointment".

As mentioned above, since Hanzhong is the focus of the "Three Kingdoms" from the Yellow Turban Rebellion at the end of the Han Dynasty, Dong Zhuo's chaotic government, the division of the masses and then to the three-legged standing, the victory of the Battle of Hanzhong "Dingjun Mountain", so that Liu Bei, who is determined to revive the Han Room, has won the Guozuo for more than 40 years, then Hanzhong naturally retains a lot of Three Kingdoms ruins, filmed in Hanzhong, is a tribute to the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and moreover, there are many scenic spots in Hanzhong, rich in products, and it is not a pity that it is not filmed in Hanzhong.
