This issue of Anhui Literature published two novels by Yu Sheng, a novella and a short story. The novella "My Name is Yang Huanming" is written about the current rural village selection, and the sense of the times is very strong. Regarding the theme of village selection, I have come into contact with Yang Shaoheng's "Village Selection" and Kang Zhigang's "Every Day there is a big sun", both of which are long stories, and the capacity is higher than "My Name is Yang Huanming", but in terms of reflecting the profundity of the problems existing in the village election, Yu Sheng's novel has its own distinctive characteristics compared with these two long stories, and the protagonists of the three novels are leaders who leave their hometown to work and then return to their hometown to run for village-level political power. Tang Jinshan of "Village Selection" and Li Lianchun of "Every Day has a Big Sun" both had twists and turns in the village election process, but they both succeeded and began to lead the villagers on the road to prosperity. Yang Huanming's campaign in "My Name is Yang Huanming" was also successful, but the former village director Jiang Sihai was rich and wealthy, and through his own activities, Yang Huanming's appointment letter was delayed. Yang Huanming, who has waited at home for several months, has no ambitions and has practical plans to make the villagers not leave their hometowns, grow vegetables and grow grain in their hometowns, and develop handicrafts in their spare time, so that they can not sacrifice the environment for development like neighboring villages, but all this still has to be in vain. As long as his letter of appointment is delayed, the people's election can be invalidated in the name of "centralization", and Jiang Sihai can continue to be the village director with dignity. This ending is not exactly the tail of light, but has a certain reality, which makes people see hope in the less than satisfactory Chinese village selection.

And he is not like when he returned to his hometown, his home is near Beijing Station, his home is in Hebei, and the company is in Beijing. In Beijing, he learned that everyone can open a leather bag company, saying that he is the president and vice president, so to speak, Bao Fuchang is still relatively low-key. He saw this fact clearly, knew that he could no longer wait for Bao Fuchang, sold the train ticket for the return trip, drunk himself with the wine that was originally bought for Bao Fuchang, and planned to go home the next day. Bao Fuchang also sent someone to Zhou Lingshen's hotel that night, settled his travel expenses, and sent two bottles of Flying Maotai to the sky, which was considered to be atonement. The title of this novel is urban, but has a strong rural experience. Nowadays, every village has people working in the city and even Beijing and Shanghai, these people are often the pride of this village, with the "laughing poor not laughing at prostitutes" prevails, everyone talks about their work, income are said to be big, not only themselves, but even their families and relatives are looked down upon. In this environment, Bao Fuchang was only in the company in Beijing, and also exaggerated the family in Jinbao Street in Beijing, about just an ordinary employee of the company, and also became the assistant to the president. In a sense, Bao Fuchang is not a promoter of this social atmosphere. In this environment, if someone really wants to do something like finding a job through people who work in the city through their hometown, they may make jokes like Zhou Lingshen.

There is also a special place in this novel, although the main character is Zhou Lingshen, but from the perspective of the theme that the writer wants to reveal, Bao Fuchang is more important than Zhou Lingshen. The bearer of the exaggerated phenomenon we talked about above is Bao Fuchang, but this character does not have much ink and is described in many aspects. The novel is like a bamboo shoot, showing Bao Fuchang's true face and mental state.
