Yang Jiye's real name is Yang Chonggui (?) –986), also known as Yang Jiye (杨继業), was a native of Taiyuan (present-day Taiyuan, Shanxi), and a famous general of the Northern Song Dynasty. Officials went to Yun Prefecture to observe the envoys, judge the state, and gave them to the lieutenants and the Datong army. Yang Ye's father, Yang Xin(杨信), who served as the Later Han Dynasty's Linzhou Assassin (present-day Shenmu, Shaanxi), took advantage of the chaos of the Five Dynasties to occupy Linzhou and called himself the Assassin History, and due to the turmoil of the situation, he successively attached itself to later Han and Later Zhou. Around the time when Yang Xin was attached to the Later Han Dynasty, in order to make friends with Liu Chong, who was then the envoy of Hedong Jiedushi, he sent the young Yang Chonggui to Taiyuan. Later, Yang Xin defected to Hou Zhou, and Yang Chonggui stayed in Taiyuan. Yang Xin died, and was succeeded by his son Yang Chongxun (Yang Ye's younger brother) as The Assassin, and liu chong of the Northern Han Dynasty was annexed to Linzhou. Later, Yang Chongxun was attached to Hou Zhou. Although there was such a repetition, due to the chaotic and special era of the five generations, Yang Chonggui's life in Taiyuan was not affected. The young and heroic Yang Chonggui was highly regarded by Liu Chong, and he took Yang Chonggui as his adopted grandson and changed his name to Liu Jiye.
However, Yang Jiye's achievements in the Northern Han Dynasty for more than thirty years were lost in the vast river of history, and the History of Song and the History of Liao lacked records in this regard, and the History of Song mentioned several confrontations with Liu Jiye, all of which ended in Liu Jiye's failure. In the "Tongjian of The Continuation of Zizhi", it is only mentioned that Yang Jiye fought hard to defend the city of Taiyuan, and even after the northern Han lord Yang Jiye surrendered, he still insisted on fighting, until the Song Tai Sect sent Liu Jiyuan to surrender personally, and Liu Jiye cried and surrendered
