Unconsciously, he said, "The bridge is like a curved bow tower like an arrow, and the curved bow shoots directly into the Heavenly Hall!" ”
Zhang Xianzhong thought it was ominous, so he sent someone to tear down the tower. After the demolition of the tower, a stele appeared on the base of the tower, which was engraved with the words "Repair the tower Yu Yilong (the tower is seen by Yu Yilong), dismantle the tower Zhang Xianzhong, blow the pipe without bamboo, and shoot through the middle" twenty big characters.
Without using bamboo, he concealed the word "Su" of Prince Su, indicating that Zhang Xianzhong was later shot to death by Prince Hauge of Su at The Phoenix Mountain in Xichong.
When Zhang Xianzhong withdrew from Chengdu, he cast the silver in the treasury into silver cakes and buried them in the river under the Nine-Eye Bridge. Later, there was a rumor that "stone cattle to stone drums, silver twenty-five thousand" Zhang Xianzhong buried silver.
More than 200 years later, in the 40-42 years of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, some people formed the Jinjiang Taoyin Company and dug up sinking silver in the Nine Eyes Bridge River. The first year was nothing, and the next year it was done again, and finally a stone cow and a stone drum were dug up, and what about the silver? But it is like a yellow crane.
Some people say: Silver may be washed away by the water, whether it is true or not, just listen to it as a legend!
In the 1970s, more than 50 kilograms of "Dashun Tongbao" coins minted by Zhang Xianzhong's Daxi regime were found in the farmland of Yongfeng Township, Wuhou District.
On April 20, 2005, when the construction team excavated the trenches for laying pipes with excavators on the riverbed of the "Tiger Beach" of the Minjiang River, a bundle of 10 silver ingots was shoveled out, and the words "Chongzhen 16th August, Silver 52" were clearly visible when the silver ingots were cast.
The silver ingots excavated were Ming Dynasty official silver, which found evidence for solving the mystery of Zhang Xianzhong's "silver sinking in a thousand ships" here.
The silver ingots unearthed in this excavation, both from the silver ingots themselves and their outer packaging, are consistent with the historical records, thus confirming that Zhang Xianzhong's theory of sinking silver here more than 300 years ago is completely in line with historical truth.
