Foshan, 24 Oct (China News Network) -- The 50th session of the Standing Committee of the 15th People's Congress of Foshan City, Guangdong Province, was held in Foshan on 24 October. The meeting accepted Guo Wenhai's resignation as mayor of the Foshan Municipal People's Government and decided to appoint Bai Tao as vice mayor and acting mayor of the Foshan Municipal People's Government.
According to media reports, the Organization Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee recently issued a public notice before the appointment of provincial management cadres. The circular shows that Guo Wenhai intends to serve as the secretary of the prefecture-level municipal party committee.
The meeting voted to approve other matters concerning the appointment and dismissal of personnel, and decided to remove Xu Guo from the post of vice mayor of the Foshan Municipal People's Government; Zhao Hai from the post of vice mayor of the Foshan Municipal People's Government; Zhou Peishan from the post of director of the Foshan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; and Li Can from the post of director of the Foshan Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau.
The meeting decided to appoint Zhou Zixiao as vice mayor of the Foshan Municipal People's Government; Chen Weiming as vice mayor of the Foshan Municipal People's Government; Xue Liwei as the director of the Foshan Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; and Li Can as the director of the Foshan Municipal Bureau of Commerce.
