Born in the early 19th century and died at the end of the 19th century, Whitman was one of the most representative and famous poets of the United States in the 19th century. He has nine siblings, with Whitman second in the family. Whitman attended school for only six years as a child and then apprenticed in the printing house, so he basically taught himself and gained knowledge, and he enjoyed reading homer, Shakespeare and Dante, three heavyweight masters who had a profound influence on his future writing and creative path.

After working in a printing plant for several years, he also worked as a teacher at the school, as an editor and freelance writer at a newspaper, and as a journalist. He is free and loose by nature, likes to wander around, likes to approach the public in various industries and groups, and this temperament is also reflected in his style of work.

In 1855, the first edition of the Blade of Grass came out, which contained a total of 12 poems, and when the ninth edition of the Blade of Grass came out, there were already 383 poems in the collection, the longest of which was called "His Own Song", which was a total of 1336 lines, and the grass blade was mentioned many times in the poem, because the grass symbolized the ordinary, "Where there is soil, where there is water, where there is grass", the poet uses the blade of grass to express his pursuit, and the "Blade of Grass" is also Whitman's most important work.

Whitman was not only a good poet, but also a humanitarian, a good democracy fighter. During the Civil War, he volunteered to work as a caregiver in Washington, d.C., caring for the wounded. His life was very hard at that time, and he had to rely on copying to survive, but he spent all the money he saved on the wounded. During his two years as a caregiver, he came into contact with about 100,000 soldiers, many of whom remained in contact with him ever since.

A silent and patient spider,

I noticed it standing alone on a tiny promontory

Notice how it surveys the emptiness around it,

It shoots out silk, silk, silk, from its own smallness,

Constantly blooming silk from the yarn, tirelessly speeding up the rate.

oh. Captain, my captain! Our treacherous voyage has come to an end,

Our ship has weathered the rough seas, and the reward we seek has been won.

The port is not far away, I have heard the bells, and thousands of people are cheering and shouting,

Watching our ship return calmly, our ship majestic and brave.

But, O heart! O heart! O heart!

oh. Yin red blood dripping diarrhea,

On the deck, where lay my captain,

He has fallen, he is dead, he has cooled.

I saw a oak tree growing in Louisiana.

It stands alone, moss hanging from the branches,

There is no companion, it grows there, and the leaves of dark green joy come in,

Its boldness, rigidity, and robustness remind me of myself

tears! tears! tears!

Tears that fall alone in the night,

Dripping on the pale shores, dripping, dripping, allowing the grains of sand to suck clean,

Tears, starlight disappeared, and there was desolation and darkness all around,

Wet tears drifted down from the covered eye sockets

Don't cry, kid

Don't cry, my darling,

Let me kiss and dry your tears,

This terrible cloud will not be permanently overbearing,

They will not dominate the sky for long, and the devouring of stars is only an illusion,

Wait patiently, in one night, Jupiter will definitely appear again

From the billowing sea of people, a drop of water whispered softly to me:

"I love you, I'm going to die soon;

I have traveled a long distance, just to see you, to be close to you,

Because I can't die unless I see you,

Because I'm afraid I'll lose you later. "

I praise myself, I sing about myself,

What I bear will also be borne by you,

For every atom that belongs to me also belongs to you.

I wandered around and invited my soul,

I leaned over and looked at a summer blade of grass.
