He was an outstanding leader of our new China's political and legal front, and he was also a very loyal Communist Party member; he served as the supreme court chief for more than 10 years, during which he promoted and formulated the first prison law, which can be said to have made many contributions to the political and legal front of new China.

He is comrade Xiao Yang, the former president of the Supreme Court, Xiao Yang was born in Heyuan, Guangdong in 1938, Xiao Yang was a student who was very worried about the country and the people, after all, he was already in the War of Resistance Against Japan, for a child like Xiao Yang, although he could not really fight with the Japanese army, he hated the Japanese aggressors incomparably in his heart, so in Xiao Yang's heart, he long ago injected the ideal and belief of dedicating his life to the country.
And Xiao Yang is indeed very good in learning, he studied at Huiyang Senior High School in Guangdong, it was during his studies at this school that Xiao Yang began to get to know many like-minded young people, and everyone often studied together how to save the country.
Fortunately, on October 1, 1949, the great founding of New China was established, and indeed they were fortunate for Xiao Yang, but at the same time Xiao Yang also knew that although they could not go to the battlefield to kill the enemy like countless revolutionary martyrs, their generation also had their own new mission, that is, to fight for the construction of new China for the rest of their lives, which was indeed an incomparably lofty ideal and extremely difficult.
In 1957, Xiao Yang was successfully admitted to the law department of Chinese University, thinking that he would be able to enter the political and legal front in the future and dedicate his modest efforts to new China.
After Xiao Yang graduated from school, he began to work formally, and was successively appointed as the propaganda department officer of the Qujiang County CPC Committee of Guangdong Province, the office officer and deputy director of the county party committee, and the secretary of the party committee of Longgui Commune in Qujiang County, Guangdong Province.
During Xiao Yang's tenure as the party secretary of Longgui Commune in Qujiang County, Guangdong Province, he can be said to be very pioneering and enterprising, often walking with the people, going to the countryside to conduct research as soon as he has time, and also learning scientific farming with the people and promoting high-quality hybrid rice.
After 1983, Xiao Yang began to get great promotion, it can also be said that he officially returned to his old business, he was appointed as the deputy chief procurator and chief procurator of the Guangdong Provincial People's Procuratorate, during which he put forward many constructive suggestions, such as studying and opening a green channel for Guangdong and Hong Kong to join hands against corruption.
After that, Xiao Yang successively served as deputy procurator general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, minister of justice, member of the Central Political and Legal Commission, and president of the Supreme People's Court.
In particular, during his tenure as president of the Supreme People's Court, Comrade Xiao Yang did indeed do a lot of work, such as comprehensively promoting judicial reform, suggesting that the central authorities implement a criminal policy of blending leniency with severity, and identifying "leniency is leniency, leniency is strict, leniency and severity are balanced, and punishment is punished as a crime" as the guidelines for criminal justice.
It can be said that Comrade Xiao Yang has indeed made outstanding achievements for the political and legal front of new China, but it is a pity that such an outstanding cadre unfortunately passed away at 4:58 on April 19, 2019, at the age of 81.
