Spider with a mirror. It's not a stained glass sculpture or delicate jewelry — it's a living spider. These spiders, called mirror or sequin spiders, are members of a number of different species of spiders. The scales look like solid blocks of mirrors stuck to the spider's back, but they can change size depending on how threatening the spider feels.
The mirror spider is a species of bulbous spider, and some people call it the sequin spider. Arguably, this is the most beautiful spider I've ever seen, and many friends with ahnophobia are not afraid of this spider because it's so beautiful.
Mirror spiders have a strange behavior, when encountering danger, their abdomen can expand many small mirrors, turning into an oval that can reflect the light around them. According to the photographer Nikki Bay, these small mirrors can reflect the light around them, allowing it to "stealth" and escape the hunter's prey. Of course, this is just speculation and there is no scientific basis.
