Yangzi Evening News Network, February 27 (Correspondent Pan Jie, reporter Xue Ling) Nanjing Customs affiliated Lianyungang Customs officers recently intercepted several small beetles during on-site inspection of a batch of logs from New Zealand, which were later identified by the laboratory as Changlin small beetles and cryphalus ruficollis. Confirmed by the Chinese Academy of Procuratorial Sciences, cryphalus ruficollis was the first interception in China.

Cryphalus ruficollis belongs to the family Beetleidae, the genus of beetles, with a body length of 1.6-2.0 mm, an eye kidney shape, a flattened side of the tentacle hammer, 4 sections of whipl, a coleope indica groove without depression, a small incision, and a flat and evenly curved bevel. It is mainly distributed in Russia, Japan, the United States and other regions. The insect has the characteristics of small individuals and miscellaneous food habits, and is easily spread over long distances with various plant products, packaging materials and means of transport, and is currently not distributed in China.
