According to the news of the General Office of the General Administration of Customs on April 12, beilun Customs, which belongs to Ningbo Customs, recently conducted on-site inspection of a batch of boxwood seedlings from Japan and found that there were obvious root-knot nematodes at the root of the disease. Identified by Ningbo Customs Technology Center, it was confirmed as a southern root knot nematode.

Nematodes are plant root obligate parasitic nematodes, which are one of the most diverse, widely distributed and most harmful taxa of plant pathogen nematodes, which is of great economic significance. China has included root-knot nematodes (non-Chinese species) in the "List of Quarantine Pests of Imported Plants of the People's Republic of China", implemented strict quarantine at ports, strictly prevented the import of epidemic diseases, and protected China's agriculture, forestry and ecological security. At present, Beilun Customs has supervised the enterprise to carry out quarantine and pest removal treatment of the batch of seedlings in accordance with the regulations.
