Duck viral hepatitis, referred to as duck hepatitis, is an acute and severe infectious disease characterized by hemorrhagic inflammation of the liver caused by duck viral hepatitis virus, with acute incidence and high mortality, and once treatment is delayed, it will cause serious economic losses. The disease was first detected in the United States in 1945 and named duck viral hepatitis type I, duck viral hepatitis type II was detected in the United Kingdom in 1965, and duck viral hepatitis type III was detected in the United States in 1969. Currently, type I is distributed worldwide, and variants of the type I duck virus have been reported in India, Egypt and the United States. Type II and type III duck viral hepatitis were limited to the UNITED Kingdom and the United States, respectively, and no mutated strains were found. In China, the first epidemic of duck viral hepatitis, the disease has been prevalent again in China since the early 1980s, the author understands that in the past two years in Shandong and northern Anhui, northern Jiangsu duck breeding intensive areas of duck viral hepatitis has increased, in each year in March-May and August-October for the peak of the incidence of the disease, to the aquaculture industry has brought huge economic losses.
