On the evening of November 21, Wang Baoqiang, the star and director of "In the Octagon Cage", won an important medal in his directing history at the China-Australia International Film Festival held in Macau: the Best Director Award.
It was a very happy thing, but another incident that happened earlier in the day had thrown him into a great controversy and made him very embarrassed.

When he delivered his acceptance speech, he said meaningfully: "I still say the same sentence, that is, take every step well, and then, shoot every part well." I feel that life is really limited, and I feel that I have a clear conscience. I want to be myself in life, and then make every movie well, worthy of the audience, worthy of the movie, thank you for the movie! ”
The most striking thing in this passage is the four words "clear conscience", why do you say this?
It turned out that on the afternoon of the day Wang Baoqiang received the award, the gossip media "Reasoning Junjiang Xiaoyan" revealed that the Enbo Fighting Club, which had previously cooperated with him in "In the Octagon Cage", went to the local police station to report the case, accusing Wang Baoqiang of being suspected of fraud.
The amount is still very large, even more than 100 million.
Speaking of this, in fact, the source of the dispute is the movie "In the Octagon Cage", which achieved remarkable box office results after its release last year, and finally broke through the 2.2 billion yuan mark, and it was this high box office income that caused a fierce dispute between the two parties.
The Enbo Fighting Club claimed that they gave Wang Baoqiang all-round support during the preparation, filming and post-publicity of the film, including providing venues, actors, technical support, etc., and invested a lot of manpower, material and financial resources.
In return, Wang Baoqiang promised to give the Enbo club a 5% share of the box office.
However, after the box office success of "In the Octagon Cage", Wang Baoqiang failed to fulfill his promises, which led to the operation of the Enbo Club in trouble, so he called the police on the grounds that Wang Baoqiang and his company were suspected of fraud.
With Wang Baoqiang's popularity and the huge amount of money involved, this incident quickly exploded on the Internet as soon as it was exposed.
Soon, Wang Baoqiang made a resolute response to this matter. Its studio issued a statement saying, "The signing in black and white is not bad, and the promised help has never broken its promise." We are not ashamed of our hearts, and we will not lose our trust, and we will wait for the outcome of the law."
The meaning expressed is obvious, there was an agreement signed between the two sides on the relevant expenses before the cooperation, and Wang Baoqiang's side has implemented it without a penny, so it stands to reason that there should be no controversy at all.
Subsequently, Liu Yong, the producer of "In the Octagon Cage", also came out to speak, saying that he participated in the filming of "In the Octagon Cage" from beginning to end, and he must stand up and make it clear for Wang Baoqiang.
There are four main points he meant:
First, there is a contract signed by both parties and the payment has been completed.
Second, when Enbo was critically ill and hospitalized, Wang Baoqiang paid 300,000 yuan in medical expenses.
Third, after the release of the movie, in order to further help the Enbo Fighting Club, Wang Baoqiang raised 300,000 yuan on behalf of the crew of "In the Octagon Cage" and donated it to the designated sports school of the Enbo Fighting Club.
Fourth, regarding false charity, Wang Baoqiang has been fulfilling his promises, as evidenced by the parents' letters of thanks and two-year transfer records.
In the end, Liu Yong also accused the Enbo Fighting Club of staging a farmer and a snake scene, demanding excessively, and being insatiable.
In the evening, Wang Baoqiang, who was receiving the award in Macau, said the words "with a clear conscience" at the beginning of this article, which was speculated to be a side response to this matter.
A day after the fermentation of public opinion, on the afternoon of November 22, the Enbo Fighting Club issued a statement to comprehensively refute the remarks of Wang Baoqiang's studio and producer Liu Yong, with a two-page detailed explanation.
The content is very long, if you are interested, you can check it out for yourself, and I will not repeat it one by one here.
Just pick one key point, it is about 5% of the box office share of the movie.
According to the Enbo Fighting Club, on October 7, 2018, they authorized Zhu Guanghui to be the club's agent, with full authority to act as the club's film and television project and subsequent derivative products on all matters and related rights.
After that, Zhu Guanghui and Wang Baoqiang negotiated, reached an agreement, drafted and printed the relevant cooperation agreement, and officially signed it in Beijing.
This agreement, which has not yet been formally signed, clearly stipulates that Wang Baoqiang's side will give Enbo Fighting Club a 400,000 license fee, and the club will not participate in the account sharing within the box office of 900 million yuan, and the club will be given 5% of the box office account if the box office exceeds 900 million.
According to Enbo Fighting Club, the final box office of "In the Octagon Cage" was 2.2 billion, removing 900 million, and the extra 1.3 billion should be divided into 5% by Enbo, that is, about 65 million.
However, when it was time to formally sign the agreement, the relevant person in charge of Wang Baoqiang's side deliberately supported Zhu Guanghui and coaxed Enbo to sign another agreement with a licensing fee of only 200,000 yuan and no box office sharing clause with the so-called deep friendship between Wang Baoqiang and Enbo.
Seeing this, everyone should understand, that is to say, there is indeed a black and white agreement between Enbo and Wang Baoqiang, but this agreement does not involve box office sharing at all.
As for the so-called 5%, it was only an agreement of intent reached between Enbo's agent and Wang Baoqiang, and it was not officially signed.
In other words, Enbo did not have a formal agreement involving the box office split, only chat records that might exist between the two parties, a draft agreement involving the split account, etc.
It is all something that has not been put into practice on paper, and even if it is true, it is only a matter of words, and it is almost impossible to become a legal basis.
At present, the police have accepted the report of the Enbo Fighting Club, and it is believed that an investigation will be launched soon, and it is hoped that the police can find out the truth as soon as possible so that the dispute can be satisfactorily resolved.
At the same time, it is also hoped that both parties can remain calm and rational, resolve disputes through legal channels, and avoid causing more harm to each other.
