Mazda also has pickup trucks, which you may not know

Mazda unveiled the facelifted BT-50 in Australia on November 17, which includes a series of design changes, safety upgrades, new features and new accessories. The facelifted new car takes Mazda's signature Kodo Soul a step further to present a more aggressive stance and strengthen the brand's identity.

The biggest change on the exterior is the front end, where the LED headlights, as well as the newly designed radiator guard and bumper are the visual center. The bumper also has holes for airflow to improve actual fuel efficiency by improving aerodynamic efficiency.

The dashboard display size has been increased to 7 inches. In addition to making it easier to set up ADAS, the center screen also integrates MID information such as real-time steering angle, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) status, driving mode/differential lock status and Rough Terrain mode to provide detailed driving conditions.

A USB-C slot is added to the car, while wireless Android Auto is supported, and is integrated with the existing wireless Apple CarPlay feature. The materials for the door trims, centre console lid and central dashboard have also been slightly upgraded, with the interior trim of the variants being changed from brown leather to black leather.

The top-of-the-line model is available in black and brown Maztex leather seats with synthetic suede and BT-50 lettering embroidered on the headrests of the front seats. The new car is also available in an exclusive metallic red, which becomes the representative color of the new car. In addition, two new colors, Pearl White and Metallic Blue, have also been added to the color lineup.

The BT-50's driver assistance system has been completely upgraded, including the addition of a new front camera, which doubles the detection field of view and further improves driving safety. At the same time, the IACC active distance maintenance cruise system with Traffic Jam Assist, RCTB Rear Cross Traffic Warning, Brake Assist, and visual speed limit indicator is actively adjusted. AEB also supports junction rider and pedestrian detection, and LKAS lane keeping can also detect unmarked curbs.

According to Mazda, more detailed information on the model, equipment variant and price will be announced in early 2025. The new model will be launched in Australia in the first quarter of 2025.
